Scan your document to Wordpad then Save AS whatever doc type you need. Then open the new document in your writing program and make your changes.

Usually the CROSS on the cursor mean that the mouse pointer is hovered over an "image" not text. usually this appears when you are trying to crop a part of the image for copy and paste purposes. you may save the scanned document and use the solution center to resize the document.

if i understood that right, you want to scan a document like a picture that has a TEXT in it, then use your HP solutions center to extract the text from that picture and change it right? if yes then let us know what specific software / version you are using to do this.

    if not, then we standby.

Can I scan a document with my HP deskjet 2652

Hello,
1, You can very well scan using the HP Deskjet 2652 printer. Since it does not contain the Scan option from its control panel, you can follow the procedure below to scan.
2, Mount the document or image that you want to scan, on the scanner glass.
3, Press the Windows Start button and look for HP; choose your printer name.
4, Now, the HP Printer Assistant tool opens; click on Scan a Document or Photo to launch HP Scan.
5, Choose a shortcut and then change the following settings.
6, Scan Preview and the Destination folder to save the scanned file.
7, Click Advanced Settings to align the above settings and then click OK. Redo these steps for every scan shortcut that you create.

My HP Deskjet F4280 all in one scans only to Photo Smart. I need to scan it to documents so I can send documents by email. How do I get it to scan to documents?

You need to install OCR by Iris software. This will allow you to scan and convert it to rich text file (.rtf) /editable text. Some HP AIO like HP c309a have free basic OCR software. you can download c309a full feature driver and software and just get the OCR software.

I have a hp 1310 AIO Printer how do you scan documents to computer using such programmes as ms word

MS Word cannot open scanned documents to edit. You need to run a scanned document through an OCR program (optical character recognition program) which converts the scanned document into a text document. Then you open Ms Word and import or open this text document to edit or change the text.

How to scan editable text of document.

Put the CD in the computer
Select "Add more Software"
Check if you have any OCR option
If you have one Install it
Then Try to scan from HP Solution center and select Scan Document
You will be able to Scan to Editable text

Other wise you can purchase a Software RED I.R.I.S.
and then you can directly Scan from the software to editable text.
