It sounds like your cables are connceted ok, but what you neede to do is to be able the switch from one video mode to the other so lets go through the cable and vrc conncetions again just to make sure. From your cable set top box connect your component video (RGB) video out to your TV (RGB) video in via the (RGB)cables. From your VCR connect your composite video (yellow) out to your TV composite video in withe the composite video (yellow) cable. From your VCR (Left & Right audio out)connect your left and right audio connections (White and Red) to the Audio in of the TV (Left and Right). Whith this setup you should be able to use the TV to switch between the two A/V inputs using the remote control.

Tv is stuck on anntena with only 1 channel I am trying to hook up cable tv. I do not have the remote anymore. When I program channels it only finds channel 1

In settings, find INPUT or SOURCE, select CABLE and go from there. To find channels on when using the ANTENNA mode, you have to have a DIGITAL antenna hooked up to the TV. It will then search for any stronger digital signal. Most of the time if you move the antenna after the signal search, you will have to do another search to receive the signal.

Hooking VCR to DISH Network Reciever Box

In order to diagnose the problem I need your help.

Have you hooked the dish receiver directly into a tv or another device and had it working?

Have you tried a different cable at all?

Have you tried pressing the ant. button on the remote or tv/vcr button?

Please update me with as much info as possible and I will figure out where the problem is coming from. thanks

How do I change Channel default on start up

Use your remote. Press menu and look up initial set up or reset to factory settings.
* Note that as of Jan 2018 most cable companies do not provide analog outputs to TV sets. If your still using Channel 3 for an input to your TV then it won't work or will stop working some time this year.
* Hook up your TV using the old RCA video/audio jacks; Yellow plug is video, Red is audio right, White is audio left.
* You can also use an HDMI cable (best) for High Def picture which is all the rage for HD TV.
* You may also connect using the DVD style cable hook up which uses 4-5 separate cables (3 for colors and 2 for audio)
* Once you have some sort of video or message on the TV screen then you can proceed to setting up the cable box. Have the cable box hooked up and on for at least 15 mins. Look at the cable box display till the correct time is displayed. Power up the cable box till you see the power on indicator. Now use your TV remote to select the correct input you hooked your cables t. (probably HDMI) The display should show you your cable service. Now use the cable remote to select your channel.
* If you don't have a cable box but still have digital service (usually called basic cable - no premium) then use the analog/digital input on the TV remote and select initial set up. There should be an automatic channel search and set up to scan all the channels available on the line your connected to. This will take up to 15mins. If you know the specific channel you can cancel the scan and pick each channel for you own list. Letting the scan run may help you find other channels you are unaware of.
* Final; if your still having problems then call you TV MFR support line and they will talk you through to check your set.
* You can also check the cable company support line if the TV check out okay. The cable company may or may not be able to supply you service for really old Tube style TV sets as most if not all TV's are digital now.

Need help hooking up TV, BluRay, Home Theatre & cable box

I found that since the Panasonic TH50PZ80U TV has only 2 HDMI ports on the back of the TV, the best solution for me was to use component (red, blue, green) cables to connect the Home Theatre to the TV. I suppose I/you could connect the home theatre to the HDMI port on the front panel, but I don't want cables hanging out the front of the TV (personal preference). Unfortunately, I am no longer able to use the VIERA Link functionality available by connecting all Panasonic components to each other using HDMI cables, but I feel it's a small price to pay for the incredible picture quality acheived by using the HDMI cable to connect the HD Cable Box to the TV. I may yet be able to control everything using the HD Cable Box remote, but I haven't gotten that far yet but I've got Comcast coming on Saturday and hopefully they can let me know if this is possible: let me know if you have a solution.

So here are the components and the cable types used to connect:
  1. HD Cable Box to TV: HDMI cable & Optical Audio cable
  2. Home Theatre to TV: Red, Blue & Green component cables
  3. BluRay Player to TV: HDMI cable
I hope this helps someone else.

Adjusting darkness

Hi Angel,
Are you really sure , your set has video? How dark is it ? As if really nothing visible? Am, sure you can hear sounds. You can adjust the brightness + button to increase the brightness. But if nothing happens , you have problem with your TV set. The problem might be in the Video section. Please let an expert technician to check it. Please don't do it by yourself, it's risky.
Please send feedback whatever comes up. So we can help you further in the future.

Thanks,

Connecting my tv and vcr so i can use the vcr remote control

You can always push "03" on a universal remote programmed to work your TV. A better solution is to connect the devices properly. You shouldn't use the tuner inputs for a VCR/DVD player, or you will get a poorer picture and no stereo sound. See the instruction manual for your player and TV. Use a stereo audio/video cable to connect them and select the proper input. The instructions will hopefully clarify this.

Female coax connector in tv bad?

If your cable converter box has audio/video connections on the back of it,you don't need to worry about using that RF coax connector. Just hook it up the same way your DVD is hooked to the TV input jack. Get a 3-wire cable (yellow-red-white)hook it to the same colors on the back of the cable box and hook the other end to an unused input on the back of the TV. Then select that input with your remote and watch TV.
