Best way to connect to wifi is to use windows built in wifi connections. depending on the type of connection you will need to use a WEP key or WPA passphrase.

I suppose that battery is bad. Connect with cable to main and cross finger...

Everytime i try to connect to the internet it says This webpage is not available

You need to confirm you are actually connected to the internet next. In the Wifi menu that you get to by double clicking the "pc" on the task bar you will see 3 tabs. If the first tab does not have all the IP, sub-net and default gateway filled in with legal numbers then you are not connected. Furthermore if you have an "IP Address:" that starts with 169.xxx.xxx.xxx then you are not connected to the internet.

If your Wifi setup includes a security phrase then under the wireless information tab it will take the following steps: "associating with.....", then "authenticating with...." then "connected to...."

The easiest way to tell if the problem is within a Sylvania Netbook running Win CE 6 is to take it to a McDonalds or other non-secure wifi location and see if it connects.

If it connects there but doesn't connect at "home" then your problem is between the netbook and your home setup not purely a Wifi not working issue.

There is a Wifi driver update available at the www.digitalgadgets.com website as well as the Sylvania Netbook Yahoo group. There are some additional troubleshooting steps at the Yahoo group.

My netbook will not go online I have tried my home wi fi and 2 diffrent public wifi

Hi,
try to do the below troubleshooting :
1) Boot up your netbook. 2) Login to windows. wait until windows finish loading. 3) Make suer your WiFi is enable. Search for the button of keyboard shortcut like 'fn' + 'f2' (wifi symbol). 4) Search for wifi network nearby. 5) connect to one of them. 6) Usually, public enable wifi is using a DHCP setup. Go to you wifi adapter setup page and make sure it's already on DHCP mode. 7) You should be able to connect to the wifi network (public DHCP enable) by now. 8) If you still can't connect to the wifi, means its not a public DHCP enable network or you got a wifi adapter problem.
Good luck ;)

I BOUGHT A SYLVANIA 7 IN. NET BOOK FOR MY 11 YR. DAUGHTER FOR CHRISTMAS .I,VE DONE EVERYTHING I KNOW TO CONNECT TO MY D. LINK ROUTER PLEASE TELL ME SOMETHING. IT TOOK EVERY PENNY I HAD THIS YR. I,M VERY...

If your trying to get on the internet with a wireless connection.and running WINDOWS,(many problems with LINUX) .and I am assuming you DO have a wireless router all set up and configured to broadcast the signal (not hidden) ....first we have to determine if the problem is at the router or at the laptop AND at what point its getting stuck ... so first try this

try resetting the router (disconnect the power to it for a few minutes) next --be sure the wifi switch is enabled on the netbook---next---go to CONTROL PANEL>NETWORK CONNECTIONS--right click oin your wifi card and choose properties--highlight INTERNET PROTOCOL and choose properties and be sure "OPTAIN IP ADDRESS AUTOMATICALLY" is checked--Does the laptop "SEE" the router?
You will need your SSID to logon to the router(internet)
follow this is a link to a troubleshooting flow-chart-Do check it out
http://www.daileyint.com/hmdpc/laptop/wireless.gif

If you continue to have problem..indicate at what point in the flowchart it is getting stuck

If this was helpful, please indicate so, if not -comment back so we can dig further to resolve this

I have bought an Acer Aspire One netbook from a friend. I also have a 3 mobile dongle but I just cannot get the netbook to connect to the internet. I have tried to go on the Live Update tab but it keeps...

The Acer Aspire netbook I bought has a switch on it to connect to the WiFi Internet G. If you want to use the dongle to communicate on the Internet, then first try to use the built in Wifi to install the driver for it.

Bought daughter a 7" Sylvania netbook for X-mas,

See: http://digitalgadgets.com/netbooks/support-7in-netbook.htm for a detail of how to connect. If that does not work then see my how to at: http://www.fixya.com/support/r7350901-fix_synet07526_wifi_flashing

You may also see:

Wait for the little computer icon in the lower right corner to show two radiating side waves with a red X under the icon. The red X indicates that the WiFi has not connected. double click on the Computer icon and a window opens up with RT28701 as the header, with all zeros in the fields.Click on the tab Wireless Information. and a new window opens up. Look for the name of your home wireless network, and double click on that name. another window will open up called Network Properties and you will see some entries, with the name of your network as the SSID. go down to the key box that says The key is provided automatically, and uncheck that box. At the long box that says Network Key type in your code for the network key. This code was assigned when your network was set up to prevent someone else from accessing your network. When you finish, check the box The key is provided automatically and from then on your machine will connect automatically because it will remember your key.
