mine has the same problem, I even tried different usb's on my pc & still no joy. aparently once you update it, it starts messing you about anyway, so i think I might leave it the way it is!

you need a new one. C40 and C60 no longer supported. Buy Garmin instead.
We appreciate your interest in updating your Navman device. However, the C40 is one of our old models. We no longer have updates available for it. This is due to the technological advances in mapping data over the past few years. The size of the mapping data is too great to be handled by the older hardware and we are unable to release map upgrades for these devices. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
The best option that we can offer is our trade-in program. You can take a chance to purchase a brand new device at a discounted price with full warranty. These new models will have the latest software and maps. And, most of the new models come with free map updates for Australia and New Zealand. You may click on the appropriate link below for more details:

Are you not able to run the activesync program despite the Vista warning? Did you try running it in compatibility mode? What happnes when you try to connect with sync center (what happens...any error messages)? Regarding the mobile device centre...did you check that McAffe and windows firewall is not blocking it from internet access?
Hey i have same issue with my GPS i thought that time it was dead, but by software update you can give it a try. or i,ll also get helps by http://thelocationtracker.com/ Try. they will also updates maps of your choices.
*Note: this only downloads the software update not a map update. For the latest maps or safety camera subscriptions please visit the Navman Store. You will have to pay to update your map.
The smart ST software you should installed on your pc should tell you what maps you have, just run the program connect the unit to the pc and it will tell you
You should be able to install your old map from the DVD/CD that originally came with your Navman - you don't need a Product Key for this, even if it prompts you for one.
It appears that the commercially available 2009 map for the S-Series does *not* cover the S30 3D, just the non-3D versions, although that's not at all obvious from what's on Navman's web-site, so you have my sympathies if you bought it expecting it to work...
Hi
The B2 is not the device that requires ID updating but the navman F series module, as this is what actually displays the Caller ID.
Go to the address at the end i've given you and it'll take to straight to the relevent download page and download your relevent F series download.

Press and hold the on/off button for ten seconds will re-set the system on the satnav. If the screen freezes after loading the maps then connect the Satnav to a pc via a usb lead and download the latest Service update fom Navman.com. With the Satnav connected to the computer and the download compleated double-click the F10 set-up.Exe and it will update the system on the Satnav. Once complete disconnect the cable and restart the F10. That was the way I sorted mine out after recieving 'little' help from Tech Support from Navman.com. My problem seems to be in the Multi-drop ability of the F10 [program one location and try and add another to plan a route] but I have never got anyhelp from the tech's other than "Buy a Connectivity kit from us and you may be able to use that to fix the problem....". If you get a "Not enough memory to complete update... " message after double clicking the F10 set-up, you will need to go into your F10 Satnav memory and look up some of the saved files from previous routes you have stored in there. I deleated some of these to free memory and it didn't seem to affect the Satnav's programming and allowed the update to complete. My F10 started fine after that. If you need any more help, Navman.com tech support may be able to suggest something....., just don't hold your breath....
