Try to put back in the old drum if you still have it to check if it will reset while the machine is on.
Check also the drum fuse that may have gone out when installing the new drum or it may just be a coincidence.

See if you can get the error code to help you accurately identify the problem area. The error code should show up in the screen. Try Press '8' and the 'stop' button at the same time to get the error code if it does not show up. Other models use this method.
Error code are at 5-21 with corresponding remedy.

There may be also parts that have gone loose or came off that needs to be refitted. If the above suggestions did not work you may need to call Xerox.
Turn off the power. If you have a 'Clear Button' press it, its the grey one located near the Start
then locate the Auto Button the lower left corner of the Control Panel then turn the power back on.
Press the buttons in the order shown below:
'Clear' - 'Auto' - 'Clear'- 'Auto'
Repeat if the error did not go out.
Program the copier as if you were going to make 14 copies.
Press the start then do tests.

Hi, can you provide an error code if possible.
You can try clearing the fault. Open up the front cover, close it then press the power button to turn off the unit. Wait 30 seconds then power it back on.

I don't think a fuse has blown as I have read that after a fault has occurred 3 or 4 times the copy machine is locked out until the fault is cleared. I think if we can clear the fault, everything will be back to normal.
were you able to get the drum fully inserted? a repeated fault message will lock the copy function and you will need to clear the fault to return to normal operation.

Usually answered in minutes!
no error code!! (cant get any errors logging in through the pc either)
the print button is greyed out though
Almost as though the printer side has died?
The print driver on the pc??
have tried 2 different pc's same results
The grayed out print/copier button is on the Copier screen itself On start up with the fault message above it
I can still scan and retrieve via pc but not copy or print from a connected pc (suspect a fault on the copier side needs resetting or perhaps an internal fuse has blown?)
Sent a reply yesterday (no reply?)
The Copier has the copier button grayed out but the scan button is still active I can still scan and retrieve from a connected pc
I Also cant Print from a pc to the copier either
Is There a reset for the copier side or possible fuse blown??
I am an experienced service technician (just need a bit of guidance on this fault)
I have a Xerox DC C240 after replacing the A2 Drum this msg appear
"A fault has occurred, some features may be unavailable, Contact your System Administrator"
the copier button is grayed out but scan is is still available
any help would be appreciated
Machine actually a Document Center C240 no error shows up on start up
the copy button is grayed out but scan button is still available so I can scan and retrieve images from PC
I have tried to print from a pc also and this fails as well.
Reset button on back of copier has been tried and unsuccessful
So possibly need a reset? or maybe a fuse blown somewhere ?
as it seems that the copier part is dead???
Im a service technician so if i need to get in and check voltages just point me in the right direction..
And How to clear the fault ??????
have already tried open front cover close and power off/on several times
but will try again tomorrow
Put in another new drum it fitted properly
but fault is still there
Is there a reset sequence I can try
have seen some using Number, stop& powersave for other models is there a combination that might work?
even tried the original drum to see if i could get back to change drum...
Tried old drum with no change of condition
is there a master reset to try
have tried another drum brand new!!! this fitted in properly
have also tried the old drum with no luck
First of all sorry if my wnglish is to bad.
First must clean "white band absolutely" which is positioned under the glass sheets on chicken appears when you copy or scan. Loosen the 4 screws that you see when lifting the ADF cover, take the bottle down, and left in a black plastic wipe with a dry area under the plastic. And if you take the bottle down as well to clean and all the mirrors located in the scanner so scanneruls to detect as clear as the light emitted by the lamp.
