Please go to setup mode. Then check the boot option. The first boot up device must be drive C. After selecting it, save the changes you've made then reboot again your computer. If the problem still persist, there's a problem in installing your windows 7. Try to re-install it again.

First you have to create partition. You need at least two partition. One in which you intall Xp and other for win 7. WARNIG BACK UP YOUR DATA BEFORE THIS.*(You can create partion by any hard drive manager you can make a hard drive partition in control panel>administrative tool>create & manage hard drive partition)
Now install xp first in one partition. If you have pre installed then avoid this step.
Now install Win 7 in another partition.
After you restart the machine will ask to chose your os. & just select the required OS.

Transferring Win 7 from laptop to external

You cant do that. The only thing I have seen and tried is to create an image of Windows 7 on a thumb drive, and it was not an easy task.
I suggest to get an external DVD drive, plug it into the PC and install. . . . . . . . Hey wait a minute!, I just noticed "my PC has a DVD player only". if its a DVD player and not a CD player, it will read the Windows 7 DVD, you may have to change the Boot Priority setting for the PC to boot from DVD before booting from the hard drive.

My laptop is not instaling winodws 7 and working good on xp

It's very common when installing Windows 7 for you to get to the Windows logo or blue windows screen and it be blank and you sometimes have to wait for anything up to 15-20mins before the installation options appear, unsure why this is but make sure you allow 30mins on that blank screen before righting it off... You also need to decide if your setting up a dual boot system if you already have XP on their, if you want to keep both then select dual boot when installing. Sorry it's not an answer but waiting 15-mins or so may give u the answer, had that happen lots of times with win7

Hello
If this is a win 7 upgrade you need to have xp installed first, then you can install win 7.

If not, then in the boot order change to cd dvd then hdd,if you have two hdd make sure your primary is first.

Last,if you have a xp disc boot from that and do a delete partion and format the hdd. Then try win 7

You need to check if there any Boot Information in partition that is used by WinXP. In this situation best way is to reinstall Win7, and format all your partitions as you want in Win7 installations process.

Quick verse 7

Install QuickVerse Essentials version 7 on WinXP w/sp3

Place the QuickVerse version 7 Essentials CD into optical drive & close tray. This begins the auto run / install process. (Please do not remove CD until right at the end!)

Installation menus appear. Accept the defaults and choose “Typical Installation” (85Mb)

Message box appears at the end of the installation: “QuickVerse installation has encountered a problem and needs to close” Choose “Don’t Send” The installation program exits.

Navigate to: Start Button / All Programs / Parsons / QuickVerse 7 / (from drop down list) find “QuickVerse 7.0” and right click on it. Select “Send To Desktop”

Click on the new QuickVerse 7.0 desktop icon to run the program.

Dialog Box appears, “The librarian datafile library.mdb not found etc…” Select “New” / "Open Book" dialog box appears click on “Close”

Now with QuickVerse 7.0 running go to File / Add Books. “Registration Guide – Introduction” box appears. Choose “Next” The path to the new collection to register should identify the optical drive (with the QuickVerse CD already inserted) Choose “Next”, “Next” and “Finish” ("Registering STEP Books" msg box appears)

Customize Option: select “No” (default) then “OK”

Go to File / Library management. “Library Management – Maintenance” box appears
The Left Hand (LH) pane shows:
Default Drive
QuickVerse Essentials

Highlight QV Essentials in the LH pane. The RH pane shows all the books present on the CD. I chose to install only the NRSV w/Apocrypha book. Drag and drop this book to the LH pane i.e. Default Drive.

“Transferring Book Files” msg box appears whilst the book is being copied from the CD to the hd.

Close the dialog, exit the program, remove the CD and you’re away…
