I plugged what i assumed was the correct transformer into my micro br and after a burning smell it died .obviously now i realise it was the wrong one ! unit does power on by battery still and works ok .is it easily repairable\ cost effective to repair?

Had this happen once, maybe the amp module is fried... if thats the case, you might need a new one.

Are fuses OK?

You would need to use a TRANSFORMER type stepdown. If you have used one of the cheap ones intended for hair drier type appliances you have damaged your unit. You will have to send it to a repoair facility in that case. Here is example of CORRECT type:

You may have damaged the data on the memory card. If you have no display at all carefully read page 125 of your manual.If it doesn't display with the adapter plugged in try new batteries. You won't find a specific Micro Br Icon since it is a data transfer connection only.

Try going to "My computer" and it should appear similar to when you plug in a USB stick. It MIGHT have a meaningful name, but it might not.

Have you installed the correct codec for it? Go to Microsoft site or Boss.com and download the codec and driver for it.

This Is real simple grab a cable that goes from rca jacks to a headphone jack then plug the rca jacks into the br-1180's audio out jack and then plug the other end into your computers mic port.
Download Audacity From www.Audacity.com and then use it to capture you audio and then you can burn that when complete.
Its real simple I do it all the time even though I have the br-1180cd the cd burner burns real quiet so I don't use it. The cable can be bought at radio shack, best buy, wal-mart and I have even seen them at 99 cent only stores.

Are there any drivers that need to be installed...possibly......you can generally find most answers @ the product website...you may have to register your product...maybe not.........it my just show up as another drive (IE: drive C:,D:)......

from reading instructions when you record channel 1 and 2 you are recordind channel 1 in stereo so you only recorded channel 1 try rcording on chanel 3 for vocal hope this helps
