How do you load a lexmark X5650 all in one printer, copy, photo, scan, and fax? I am trying to figure out how to load the fax to send the fax to someone.

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer (if USB connected)> reboot your pc > unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer (if USB connected). Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection or when the WiFi light on the printer turns solid green (if WiFi connected.).

If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

1. Disconnect the USB cable connecting the printer from your computer.
2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.
3. Delete the Lexmark print object.
4. Reboot computer.
5. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - black box where the power cord is plugged into on the back of the printer, and re-plug after 30 seconds.
6. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to the computer.
7. Wait until your computer fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, try to print a document to verify that the problem is fixed.

Are you able to send faxes when using the printer operator panel - not through Lexmark Productivity Suite application on your computer? Are you able to receive faxes without any problems? Make sure the fax line where the printer is connected is working properly. It could be a signal quality in the connection.
You can also try to decrease the transmission speed when sending faxes. On your printer operator panel:

1. Press the Fax button, then press Options 15 times to get to ADVANCED FAX.
2. Press Select.
3. Press Options ten times until MAX SEND SPEED appears on the LCD display.
4. Change it to 9600 BPS using the - (left arrow) button.
5. Press Select.

Try to send your fax again.

Just to set your expectation, MagicJack phone service may work but Lexmark does not recommend the printer to be connected to a digital phone signal (e.g. MagicJack, Vonage, etc.) since there are lots of jitter and packet loss in the transmission signal resulting to fax failures. The Lexmark fax machine will have its optimum performance when connected to an analog signal(regular telephone line). But here's how to configure the printer's baud rate. From the Control Panel, press Settings(wrench icon)> Fax Setup, hit Ok > Dialing and Sending, hit Ok > Max Send Speed, hit Ok > set down the speed to 9600 bps. Hope this helps. Hello. The fax and scan software can only be installed using the the installation cd that came with the printer. The file sizes are big , especially for the scan software, that's why they're not available for download online. If you lost/misplaced the installation cd, I would advise you to call Lexmark. They might send you one for free. Hope I can help you more with that.
