I had a problem with it recongnizing the hard drive and now it is telling me it needs to be formated before it will read it. I didn't have any issues with it for 2 years and a few weeks ago, it was making noises and wouldn't find the hard drive. Will I lose all the pictures on the drive if I have to format it? Can I take it somewhere for them to get them off if I do? I have a LOT of pictures on this drive!!

If you are using it as a external drive you will find in my computer. If your using it as a new main drive it may have to be formatted .

You formatted the hard drive on your laptop in NTFS and the MAC cannot read and write to this formatted NTFS hard drive.
THE FIX
Format the hard drive using your laptop BUT this time format it in FAT32.
The MAC can read and write to a FAT32 formatted hard disk, so now you can exchange data between the MAC and the Windows laptop.

please un-install and then re-install your usb port drivers. refer local service tech

You need to format the drive, if this drive is your boot disk, then you need to reinstall operating system which will formatting the drive during installation..
If the drive can not be formatted, this is hard disk fails. Replace with the new one.

when you turn the unit on hit Alt+F10. This will access the acer recovery partition from which you can restore. This is provided you didn't replace the Hard drive or wiped the drive yourself

You are right, but if it didn't infect only your C drive, then you are still not 100% secured and cleaned. I would suggest you to run full system scan using an updated antivirus program. There are many free antivirus programs which are very effective. You can try Avira Free (click HERE to download). Scanning will take time, but it's better to waste time than wasting data and having a virus infected computer.

Yes,Tv don't have internet web brower like those newly build and design LCD LED tvs.It will not recongnize external hard drive,this early version of HDTV only work as a HDTV monitors only for computers.

If you didn't activated the Read-only option from its properties then the memory chip inside it is near death and the write protect is there to allow you to recover the files while you still can - activated automatically. Once you have done that just junk the stick, it's dead, time for a new one.

if your pc wont recongnize it im afraid it is a gooner can you feel or hear it spinning if so you can download a free software called hirens boot untility it is an image file burn with power iso or nero at slow speed it is a bootable disc restart your pc with it in the drive select partion tool any there are seceral on disc format the hdd but not to ntfs ps3 does not use this format formate with all zeros if you dont know how format to fat 32 you will need to reformat it in ps3 again hope this helps
