If you have successfully updated your printer's firmware yet your printer is still having trouble recognizing your ink cartridges, it could be due to a faulty printhead. Please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center or visit Lexmark's website for additional assistance.

That sounds like a printhead problem. Lexmark recognizes that some of our inkjet all-in-one customers may be experiencing issues with their print quality.  We take our customer user experience very seriously, and we strive to ensure that each time a customer prints using a Lexmark device the page is crisp, clear and up to the highest standards.

However, if your device is displaying a ‘printhead error’ on the hardware and/or you are suddenly experiencing a print quality issue, please contact the Lexmark Technical Support Center at 1-800-539-6275.

Lexmark agents are prepared and able to help diagnose and resolve your issue. This may involve updating your printer firmware and/or replacing the printhead for your printer, at no charge to you, our customer. Installation is quick and easy for any customer to perform.

After refilling my cartridge it shows ink level low for one cartridge and gives two error messages for every printing but prints. But for another cartridge it does not print and give message to buy a new...

Original Printer manufacturers do not recommend refilling in cartridges.
Different inks used in different cartridges differ in density, color, acidity etc. Usually refilling ink is made as universal ink. i.e. They produce the ink for 'any printer'.
The differences in the original and refiling inks might lead to the printer not recognizing the ink level.
Either buy a new cartridge or just ignore the messages.

No computer of mine recognizes this printer and the left drip light keeps blinking even though i have repalced it

If by referring to the left drip light you mean the bottom left light; this is the indicator light for the color ink cartridge:
Left print cartridge light blinks, Power light on. Tri-color print cartridge is damaged or missing.
? Reinstall the print cartridge. If the error persists, replace the print cartridge.

? You can still print with one cartridge

it is possible that once the computer and printer are communicating that the error messages could also be resolved by running the printer diagnostic program.

If your computers do not recognize the printer, uninstall the driver, if you had installed a specific driver, and then go to the site below to download a driver for your operating system and specific printer:

I have replaced the color cartridge and now the printer does not recognize color. Can you please help me on this?

Hello

Turn on the printer and check the LCD screen for messages. If your printer isn't recognizing what you know to be a new cartridge, the "Low Ink" warning will still be on the screen. Press the green "OK" button for now--if you want the message to reset later, just open and close the lid.

Try printing a test page. Sometimes the ink cartridge simply has a faulty chip and the printer cannot recognize the ink levels.

Open the lid via the handle under the copying tray and remove the ink cartridge in question. Check the bottom for the plastic tab. This tab must be removed or the printer cannot recognize the cartridge. Sometimes when the tab is pulled off, a small strip remains, and this can interfere with printing. Hold it in good lighting and use your fingernails or a knife to gently pry off any remaining bits of the plastic tab. Replace the cartridge, close the lid, and print a test page.

Call the store or website customer service where you bought the ink if the above steps do not work Tell them what you tried, the exact error message your printer is giving you, and when you bought the ink. If it's within 30 days of purchase, they probably have a return or exchange program.

Cartridge Error message on our Lexmark X5150

The Lexmark machines are designed to kick out anything it suspects may be refilled. If your old cartridge has bad print nozzles this may be tripping the error. Printers are typically for sensitive with their color cartridges anyway because the manufacturers make more money on the color ones. You can try looking around the settings on the machine and in the printer preferences to see if you can tell it to ignore the ink levels and see if you can continue to print.

Dell A940 prints black but doesn't print in color. I installed a new color cartrige and the 50c error went away, but still doesn't print in color...

Hi there Error 50c
This is for yours.
Regarding the Dell A940 "Error 50c"....the user guide doesn't seem to mention "Error 50c". They do, however, mention a "Cartridge Error" on page 52 of the manual. They claim this means that the printer has detected a short circuit (fuse/resister) in the cartridge. As you may or may not have noticed in the manual, this is what they recommend doing about it:

1) Press Power to turn the printer off.

2) Lift the printer cover/lid (scanner unit) until the scanner support holds it open.

3) Turn the printer on.
The ink cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position unless the printer is busy.

4) Remove the color ink cartridge.

5) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.
If the error message displays again, replace the black cartridge with a new black cartridge.

If the error message does not display, repeat steps 1–3 and then go to step 6.

6) Reinstall the color cartridge and remove the black ink cartridge.

7) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.

If the error message displays again, replace the color cartridge with a new
color cartridge.
If there is no error message (indicated by flashing lights), repeat steps 1–3 and then reinstall both ink cartridges.
8) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.

If you get the error message again, while both cartridges are installed, replace both of the cartridges.

Basically, what they want you to determine is,....if the short circuit is with the "black ink" cartridge or the "color ink" cartridge and then replace the cartridge that has the problem.

You may have to buy a new cartrige.
Please all I ask is call back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one, so I will keep on helping.

Dell 926 won't recognize new color cartridge

Try this...shut down the printer. Insert new cartridge, let the printer cycle out with new cartridge. then reboot the computer. This should solve the problem. The cache in the printer will not cycle out. It wants to see the printer as a new entity

Check Printer Light Keeps Flashing on C3180 PhotoSmart

No, you do not need 3 cartridges or anything like that. Some cartridges have chips. Yours do not. If the light keeps blinking it means that one of the electrical contacts on the cartridge has blown and now the printer doesn't recognize it. Try printing something, you will get a message "problem with color cartridge" or "color cartridge missing". That means that the printer doesn't recognize it. I suggest you buy a new one. Or, if you have an old one, try putting it in and see if the light still blinks.

Just replaced my black and color cartridges with new lexmark...

Hi tfonts,

This is normal behavior for proprietary print devices if you have not provided them with a new print cartridge and have instead filled them yourself.

Epson CX5400

Nothing wrong with the printer. The rubbish cartridge you bought and replace it with one that works. Approx 30% of most compatible/refilled cartridges DO NOT WORK.

Not only that but they WILL block your print head nozzles eventually. Ever wonder why Epson do NOT make any flushing cartridges but almost every compatible "maker" does??

99% sure the cart is at fault. return it to where you bought it and get a swap.
