Kitchenaid KUDM25SH dishwasher - water not heating

Depends on how much that you use the dishwasher. It's possible that the element is burnt out. If you know how to check the element, you can with a meter, however if you don't know electrical, then by all means get a qualified individual. There isn't a thermostat. Everything is on a timer circuit. If there is a preheat on the machine, you could set it to that and the element should come on also.

Do these 'portable' dishwashers 'heat' water prior to washing? i have customer complaining bout the dishes not coming clean..yet the water entering the dishwasher is cold, does not appear to heat water...

Most dishwashers require a minimum 120 degree inlet water temp. The heating element will boost this up during the main wash cycle to aprox 140. Do not hook a dishwasher up to inlet water temps above 150.

Asko dishwasher won't start, just hums and gets hot

Get this every few months - don't know the problem but we disconnect from unit and tilt the dishwasher and loads of stinky water spills out - from where I don't know. Then just **** all the water out of the drain bit with a chicken baster - primative but has worked every time so far. Keep trying to get water out until doesn't hum when switched on.

Dishwasher not cleaning/water sprayers not spraying it appears

I had the same thing recently. Everything appeared fine mechanically, but no water would spray. I inspected the bottom arm as closely as possible and actually found a half melted clear plastic straw inside of it. 30 minutes, tweezers and a small pick eventually got it out and all is fine.

Dishwasher doesn't spray

It sounds like your dishwasher is doing everything normal EXCEPT washing. The unit fills properly, the timer advances properly, the unit drains and goes through a rinse cycle, plus the water is heating. I would check your main wash pump for obstructions that may be clogging it, or if it is not running at all, you need to check the interconnecting wiring and/or something in the wash pump circuit that would prevent it from running. There should be a wiring diagram/tech sheet located behind the lower kick panel under the door. I hope this helps some. Good luck and let me know what you find.

Wash water isn't hot even after we run hot water in sink before turning on dish water. However rinse water is hot. It appears the heating element is not working on wash but is on rinse?
