The bobbin is probably cracked. They get that way when bobbins are wound in correctly, or to tight. Just break it off and get new bobbins. Just make sure your theading it correctly when winding bobbins.

You wound the bobbin with thread that was threaded through the machine, because Husqvarna tells you that you can do it that way. Well Husqvarna is dead wrong and they should not be telling people that. It puts too much tension on the thread that is winding onto the bobbin, it crushes the bobbin onto the winder spindle, and often causes the bobbin sides to expand and pop off, (explode).

DO NOT pry it off as suggested above, you will probably break the bobbin winder and cause an expensive repair.

Simply unwind the bobbin by hand while the bobbin is still locked onto the winder spindle. You can remove the bobbin after you take the thread off and throw away that now ruined bobbin.

NEVER wind a bobbin with thread that in threaded through the machine, the thread has to come off the spool, through the guide and onto the bobbin.

Bobbin is not feeding properly- didn't wind on evenly.

It is important that the bobbin be wound smoothly for the machine to operate properly. First, check that you are threading the machine correctly to wind the bobbin. There is a tensioner for the bobbin winder that helps wind the bobbin smoothly so incorrect threading will cause issues. Also, try to wind your bobbin slower. There is no advantage to winding the bobbin on high speed.

If you continue to have bobbin winding issues, there is a standalone bobbin winder (SideWinder) avlb at JoAnn's or even Amazon for ~$30,. They are electric or battery operated. Be sure to verify your machine bobbins will work on the SideWinder before purchasing as some bobbins are not compatible. The bobbin winder is a handy gadget since multiple bobbins can be wound quickly, plus bobbins can be wound without having to unthread the machine, not to mention reducing the wear and tear on your sewing machine.

Bobbin winder not working

The thread needs to be hand wound on the bobbin first. Then hold the thread tail while activating the bobbin winder. There are machines that automatically wind bobbins but they are specialty machines and have no external bobbin winder mechanism.

Bobbin tension Viking Freesia 425

Take a look at www.sewingpartsonline.com and check out bobbin case for your model. Does yours look the same? If so, look up how to adjust bobbin case tension on www.youtube.com.

Settings for stippling freesia 425

Lower feed dogs. Turn on Needle Down. Presser foot pressure on Darning setting. Don't forget to lower the presser foot lever. That's about it! Since you are going to be the feed dogs, it doesn't really matter if you have a stitch length set or not, but do have width set for "0". The spring loaded darning/embroidery/quilting foot is the best for stippling, but try it with any open toe foot you may have. Do a few samples first using the threads you intend using on your project because the tensions might need tweaking. Try to get the result you like by adjusting only the top thread tension. If you really have to adjust the bobbin too, put a small mark on the bobbin case where the "normal" position of the screw is so you can return to that when you are done quilting.

No tension on bobbin thread

You might remove the bobbin assembly looking for a broken tension spring (maybe a piece of it lying in the bottom the bobbin case.
