My RCA digital recorder model number RP 5012B problem: I would like to know how the sequence order of using the erase button to erase what recordings I don't need anymore on my RCA digital recorder model number RP 5012B. Also would like to know how to unlock it without taking the batteries out. Thank you.

It is not possible to download the sound files in their digital forms with this model of recorder. The only way to transfer the recordings is to connect a male-to-male 3.5mm (1/8") plug from the recorder to the line input of the PC (as was formerly mentioned) and record it onto the PC in real time. I've done this with mine and it works fine...it just takes longer to do than tranferring the actual digital file to the PC. A good MP3 recorder for the PC is Audio Record Wizard. http://www.nowsmart.com/arwizard/

all you have to do is install the DVR manager program that comes with it in the setup file. then you go to the drive on the bottom left that your file is saved in. then click on the file you want to transfer. after you do that you go to FILE----->MAKE .WAV FILE and choose the save location and it will transfer it to your computer. then you can use a program like audacity to listen to the file.
