I have a sega genesis. i hae no look how to hook it up. please help me.

Well a sega genesis there are 3 different models all either using RF adaptors or AV cables

if RF adaptor please follow this

plug the RF adaptor into the back of your tv the coaxal cable for your tv service ushally runs through this, and plug it into the the back and you can also plug the service into the RF adaptor for the sega genesis. plug the power in and make sure you are on the correct channel (3or4)

If you are using AV cables please advise and I will post the following for that.

    make sure on the RF adaptor that its set to the channel you are using 3or4 and place the tv on the same channel.



    try both units if possible.

2q== they have videos on Youtube on how to hook Sega genesis version 1 2 and 3 consoles on up to a flat screen tv or any of the newer TV's. I just use a CRT style TV they are much easier to hook up old consoles too. Just buy a CRT tv type then.

How can I hook my sega genesis console to my Direct tv box?
Don't plug your Genesis into your satellite box. Plug your Sega into the back of your TV set. Get a Sega Genesis composite video cable. Run that cable from the mini-DIN connector on the back of your Sega to the RCA (yellow, red white) connectors on the back of your TV set. If you don't have any spare RCA connectors on your TV set, try a composite video switch.

How to hook sega genesis up to a flat screen tv
You need to hook up the cable coming in from the outside to one end of the Sega RF cable and hook the male end of the RF connector from the Sega into the cable input on the TV.On the back of the game console there is a channel selector switch.It is either CH3 or CH4 which is what your TV needs to be on when you turn on the console.If one looks bad try switching the channel selector on Sega and on the TV.

Need step by step directions to hook up a 16 bit Sega Genesis
There should be two plugs on the back of the sega. One for the power cord, and one for the audio/video cord. The audio/video cord is a coax cord with a little box in line. Hook your cable or antenna cable into the jack on the box and hook the end of the cable from the sega into your tv. There will be a switch on the sega or on the box somewhere that designates channel three or four, this is what channel your tv will need to be on to use the sega.

Have you cleaned the Sega? What I mean is where the casset game goes. Push down the little flap, and there should be a little strip with contacts on the inside. Just clean it with a cotton swab and alcohol. And also, clean all your games also the same way.

Problem with the 1st generation sega genesis
If the screen changes (From snow to black or something) when the console is turned on it sound like the console is partially working. Try cleaning the Cardridge pins que tip and some sort of cleaning fluid.

Once this is done insert and eject the cartridge several times then repeat the cleaning process on the cartridge. Hope this helps.
