1) Check input/output connectors are in working order.
2) Clean games, console, all cables.
3) Games should be kept in 30 - 70 Degrees Farenheit to avoid trouble.
4) The SNES uses a 1.5 amp picofuse. It's a pretty easy fix, minimal soldering skills are required though.
5) Hold the reset button down for 10 seconds and try again.
6) Yellow cable from the AV may be a problem and need to be replaced.

I suggest going to your local game shop (Not gamestop, the family run one) and ask. They should be able to tell you what part to replace and even replace it.
It sounds like its just an old system my man. Replacing a part would cost more than its worth.
