Let's take a simple example to understand.
# Convert 0.5 Decimal to Fraction:
0.5 = 5/10
gcd(5,10) = 5
0.5 = (5/5)/(10/5) = 1/2

Decimal to fraction:
Type in your decimal (i.e. .5)
Then press [MATH] > press [ENTER] on [>FRAC]
Then press [ENTER] again
For a fraction to decimal:
Simply type in the fraction and press [ENTER]
(*Note that the decimal value is truncated to fit the screen)
