Previous suggestions are excellent. if still troubled, ask wife to start after you come home. observe while she is does this. might be low battery on her remote.fob.
I think you need to buy a new starter buddy if it won't engage you're going to need a new starter there's really no way around that but once you get a new starter you should be fine they're not too expensive

The start/stop 3x thing could be one of a few main issues. You need a bypass module or it needs to be reset. You need to program the tach if you're using it. Make sure with the new models(5101, 5301) it's programmed for auto transmission. The come default for manual transmissions.
SOURCE: when using the remote starter the car won't start
have your ignition relay for the remote start checked out.could b a blown fuse.
SOURCE: i have a viper 791xv carstarter/alarm the battery
The parking light flashes are a diagnostic report to alert you to the reason the remote starter is not working:
5 flashes; brake wire is active
6 flashes; hood pin is active
7 flashes; manual transmission mode is enabled and not initialized
8 flashes; neutral safety wire has no ground or the switch is OFF.
Count the flashes and you will be able to go directly to the problem. Enjoy.
SOURCE: What does hood pin is
Do you have the hood open? If you have the hood open then car won't remote start. It is a safety feature so the car does not start while someone is working in the engine compartment. If the hood is closed then open the hood find the hood pin and disconnect then try to remote start the vehicle again. Could have a faulty hood pin.
