You shouldn't actually need software.  Plug the device in to a Windows based machine via USB cable.  After a few moments the device should appear under My Computer as a removable drive labeled "Sansa E260 Player."

To load music, double click the Sansa device in My Computer, double click the Music folder, and then drag and drop your music into the folder.

If that's not working, or you prefer a software solution, you can download the Sansa Media Converter Software here www.sandisk.com/support/sansa

Unable to download music

Usually an Mp3 player comes with software that will enable you to load the music correctly. Do you have a disk with a program on it? What does the manual say? Make sure that the player is connected correctly, it should appear in 'my computer'. Good Luck :)

Unable to play music from the music folder on a e260 anymore. rest of the unit works perfect. Is there a software update i can download? install new drivers? or throw it out and get a ipod?

Under the Settings menu, there should be an option that lets you reset the player to factory settings, and/or erase all media on the player. Do that, and then copy all your songs back onto the player.

DELET AND LOAD MUSIC

Plug it into any usb port on any computer. The unit should mount as a removable drive in "my computer" delete only the MP3 files, as some of the others may be software for operation of the MP3 player. Rock on!
