I have a Dell 1700 printer - it was showing an error and when i pressed the green button it printed a help guide. This said that i needed to replace the imaging drum and it would no longer print until this had happened. I have replaced this but still the same error appears. Please help - much appreciated

After you replace the imaging drum, you should reset the imaging drum's counter. To
reset the counter, press and hold the Cancel button until all lights flash in sequence.

Dell 1700 is giving me an error about the Toner. It also prints out a page telling me to replace the photoconductor kit. I have replaced the photoconductor and the toner but it still has the same error and...
The printer has no way of knnowing that you have changed the Photoconductor Unit, unless you tell it (as there is not chip on the Photoconductor).

The Photconductor reset procedure is as follows.

Dell 1700
RESETTING DRUM PAGE COUNTER

1) Leave the power on, insert toner cartridge, and leave door open
2) Press the cancel button and hold till the leds flash
3) Release cancel button and close toner cartridge door

After replacing fysicalythe photoconductor/imagaging drum, leave the door open. Press and hold Cancel untl all lights flash in sequence to reset the printer. Close front cover.
