OKI Microline 390FB Alarm on, tried all the obvious stuff, cleaned it out and still no change. Is there something that you need to press on the key pad to get rid of it?

There are a few things that are possibly wrong with your printer. You may want to try completely unplugging and reinserting the cord into the power outlet. If that doesn't work, check your printers ink levels and ensure that there is no paper jam. Best of luck.

In my own experience, Okidata printers have a nasty habit of collecting a lot of paper dust. To start out, I would suggest a really good cleaning, with no paper in the machine, with a can of compressed air. If that does not solve your problem, you might have to replace your feed wheel assembly. Hope this helps!

First, make sure that paper feed switch is set accordingly to the paper path you are using (rear feed, bottom feed or friction). If you make a change, turn the unit off and on.

If it is set correctly, there might be an obstruction on the printer top cover that interferes with the cover sensors. This forces the printer to think that the lid is still open and will signal it as you have described.

The last option will be a damage to the sensors or to the mainboard. This is rare, but if the case, you need a repair center.

Is the front cover on the printer(ifs its not the alarm light will keep flashing as there is a sensor that will trigger the alarm if the cover is not on or not on properly.Hope this helps?

We swapped out the printer for another one we had in the office that was working. The new printer also got the alarm light. From that we concluded that it was a bad serial card. We swapped the serial card from another printer, and the original printer started working perfectly. Now we just need to find out where we can purchase another serial card, as we have no more 'spares' around here.

Is the front cover on ? becuase this printer cannot work with the cover off ?If the cover is on remove the ribbon and power the printer on if it works the ribbon could be the problem.

the lid has 2 small points the holds down 2 censors that indicate when it is off, make sure that there are not broken and that the censors are being engaged.
