This happened to me yesterday. My daughter put a penny and a dime in the SD slot and none of the buttons or volume were working on my TV.Only the power button would work.
I fixed it by simply removing the penny and dime out of the SD slot and then i held the power button for 10 seconds. After I unplugged the TV from its power source for 5 minutes and then plug it back in. When I turned the TV back on everything was back to normal.
For a second I thought I was going to have to buy a new TV, lol. Hope this helps. If it doesn't work the first time then try it a second time.
By the way I have a Panasonic PT-52LCX66 LCD Projection TV..

Pluged in sd card tv stopped working red light blanks

Check the set for normal operation. Take out the SD card, and connect it to external antenna. If it captures transmissions, the SD card might have some data that interfere with the TVs firmware.

Grandson posted pennies through my cd player took f achier off and shook pennies out cd now plays but none of the buttons work on the front panel any advise please

hi margaret, seems like the coins have shorted out some front components like zener diodes, fusible resistors etc, in the face. if you not technically minded it wud be best to consult with a technician directly.

Controls for radio/cd player work on and off.

I had similar issues with my audio being mute intermittenly. I ended up being a penny in the CD player slot. (I think the previous owners kid put a penny thru the CD player slot) It also shorted out my DVD system, the DVD player would not come on. The dealership where I bought it seen me to GV Electronics to have my DVD player replaced, and they removed my CD Player and heard change banging around in the Player. After dis assembling it, they found the penny. Everytime I hit a bump or go over railroad tracks, the audio would mute.

Panasonic remote and volume/channel buttons do not work

My son put a penny in the SD card slot of my Pansonic flat screen tv. I finally got the penny out but now the volume and tv controls do not work. I can change the channels through my cable box but that is it. The volume does not work on my cable remote or the flatscreen. What do you suggest I do to fix this problem?? Thanks, Josh

Audio/Video System troubleshooting

there is a penny in your CD player slot. I had the same issues. Evertime I went over railroad tracks or severe pot holes my audio would go mute. The penny is moving around inside, on the CD player's electronic board and sorting out by letting multiple circuits make contact, so the penny was removed and everything is good. It killed my DVD System, I had to have it replaced on the dealership. I guess the previous owners kid put the penny in, mimmicking like a CD. I have had my Quest 3 weeks, probably one of the reasons they traded it in........
