Usually when devices have low signal strength it is either as a result of the network IC or the signal at the particular location is just low. Although you can attempt to use signal boosters but often times they have side effects if the phone usage is quite heavy as the attract more microwaves than recommended for human body contact. You can attempt the use of signal boosters and see how the performance becomes.

OK!
I know, that this video is 23 minutes long, and it could be much shorter too, but there is everything described in details! Prepare for a great signal without dismounting your phone:

Another alternative, if you dare (a 13 min. video, I'm using this method with my Note II, btw with no problems:)

I have a Huawei y301A1 smartphone the signal is not strong it keeps jumping from 3g to 2g how can I boost my signal strength

There is a small antenna that you can buy it tapes underneath your battery. It usually only gains you about one bar of strength . Most likely its the area you're in. try going to a different area and see if your strength increases if it does it is the area that you're in and there's not much else you can do about it . That is one of the cheaper phones out there.

Boost Your Cell Phone Signal

This free do-it-yourself (diy) tip sheet reveals surprisingly simple tricks to try in order to increase your cell phone signal when you are on a call and without the use of any so-called cell phone "boosting" device. By learning these simple techniques and tips, you will be able to significantly increase your cell phone's signal strength naturally, without any device. So, next time you make a call, make sure you observe the following tips and tricks:
  • Hands-off!: Make sure you never put your finger near or on the antenna. If you don't know where the antenna is, it is probably on top of your phone so it's a good idea to hold your phone by the base, not the top. The idea here is that anything to obstructs cellular waves decreases your phone's performance, including anything as small as your finger.
  • Turn Your Body: If your interlocutor's voice breaks during a call, try to turn around until it improves. You don't know where the base station antenna from your carrier is located and your head may be right in the way. Rotate your whole body so that your phone points to a different direction until you find the best position, then don't move.
  • Avoid Metal: Move away from any piece of metal, especially massive steel structures. They usually interfere with cellular waves.
  • Power Up!: Always keep your battery as charged as possible. Some cell phones (and maybe yours do) will weaken their signal strength when the battery is low to increase talk time.
  • Look For Windows: If you are in a building, move towards a window: the less obstruction the better.[br]- When driving your car, place the phone on the window side, it may help.[br]- When walking outside, move to an open spot rather than stay close to building or in the woods.
  • Hide!: On rare occasions, you can use a huge concrete building or structure to hide yourself from a specific base station antenna that may be defective, so that your cell phone sees another, more remote base station which works better. This is unlikely but it sometimes happens.
Thank You!

Signal issues

If the antenna on the camera can be removed then there are long range antennas available that will increase the signal strength. You have to if the camera is transmitting on 2.4 ghz or 5.8 ghz before you look online for an antenna. just google 2.4 ghz antennas for a list.

No increase in range

Hey kenat. To increase the range of your wireless signal to increase signal strength, try pointing the antennae as approximate as possible to your receiver. If you have already tried that, then use the old Aluminum foil trick. Get a small square of aluminum foil and wrap it around your antennae. Make sure the whole antennae is wrapped with the foil and it's usually best to keep some more hanging off. Because Aluminum is conductive, this will increase the strength of your wireless signal, and at the same time your range.
If all else fails you could always purchase a multi-antennae router which usually has 3 or more antennae.

Have fun :)

How do i increase wi-fi signal strength

There are only a few ways to increase signal strength ..move closer to the source (the router) , get a bigger antenna or boost the signal...you can boost the signal with foil in the shape of a parabola around the router antenna or make one out of a vegatable strainer that will plug into the laptop(this one works best )especially for picking up your neighbors WIFI

I lose the signal from my 2300 if I move past 30 feet away from it. What can I do to increase the signal distance?

Things that will affect the range on a Wireless router signal are signal strength, and a big factor to this is the antenna you use. The small antenna that comes with the router normally offers around "Up to 100m" indoors and "Up to 450m" outdoors (open range) range, router to computer, and replacing this antenna with a higher gain directional antenna pointed towards your laptop would normally be a way to improve this signal. Router login involves using web browser and going to http://192.168.2.1 and login is admin as well as the password of admin ... unless you have changed it! At any rate, if all antennas are correctly attached the router to computer distance would not be a problem. Check antenna connection, replace if all secure and still have low signal strength. Please let me know the outcome of the repair efforts? Thank you.

I am using 802.11b/g wireless lan. my signal

Hi,

Increasing signal may increase speed, but getting closer to the router would yeild the same result iif that is going to work. You would do it by going to the management page for your router, and adjusting the "antenna" or "signal" strength to maximum.

On a linksys the default ip for that page is 192.168.1.1, on other routhers you can look it up in the paperwork or on the manufacturers website.

Hope this helps!!
