Breaker for a sprinkler pump makes a buzzing noise when turned on and then pops off. What is the problem

This is common. The noise is coming from the water pump. If it bothers you, you can try UNPLUGGING the washer or turn off the Circuit breaker first. Then you can remove the bottom kickplate on the front of the washer and clean around the pump. If there is a water filter scree, clean it out. Make sure there is nothing rubbing against the pump which could cause a buzz. Tighten all fittings and screws to eliminate vibration noise.

Hi Frank, that sounds like the pump motor may be jammed. sometimes things rust or corrode and eventually seize up.

Pull the pump and check it.

does it blow a breaker? check to see what is going on by unplugging all the pumps, blowers lights and anything else plugged into the circuit board (heater too)
turn the breaker on once everything is unplugged and then proceed to turn the spa off, plug one item back in and turn the breaker back on.
Do this until you find the buzzing....

You may actually have a back relay on the circuit board causing the buzzing by not latching in when the pump or something is trying to come on.

The Lawn Sprinkler does not use that much power.

So you had your Lawn Sprinkler in storage, and you got it out for this season ?

If yes I can only think if any damp has got in, on the connection, that Run to your main power supply. Check it out.

Right off hand, I'd say, there's some loose wiring somewhere in the fan's electrical connections to the light fixture Removing the light fixture will give you access to that wiring. Be sure the wall switch for that fan is OFF, as well as the circuit breaker for the wall switch.

this motor has a run capacitor, have it tested. search your area for your local pool pump motor repair guy with free testing.. ask him how to remove it, caps can hold a charge and make for a nasty surprise.. THIS IS IF THE MOTOR HUMS OR MAKES A BUZZ NOISE if not, you will need to check the power at THE BACK OF THE MOTOR. no power check, timer, breaker, main breaker ..

The pump is seized up... you can try to open it and get it spinning... make sure that there is nothing stuck in the impeller...
other then that the motor bearing are locked up and that will also cause the pump not to turn...

It could be that the PSR-22 isn't "relaying" the correct amount of power to your pump. If the PSR-22 is making noise (a hum, or buzzing sound), it could be failing.

Try checking the voltage on the PSR-22 to be sure that it's supplying your pump correctly. Be careful - there's a lot of voltage in there, and getting a shock could be fatal.

Make sure when you pull the head to ck the screen you turn the system on and blow out the line, then run a hose through the head to make sure it isn't plugged up anyway. Depending on the head and the cost of a new one will dictate cleaning or replacement.

Remove pump and check for something stuck in the impellor assuming that it has one. You didn't say what you are working with. So, sounds like something clogged or stuck in what ever it is that you are pumping. If that is not the case then you have a bad pump motor.
