If you have a 64 bit operating system you will need to download itunes x64. Here is the link.

http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1047

You can see if you have a 32 or 64 bit opperating system by clicking start menu - right click computer - click properties. Under Operating system you should see Windows (Version) 32/64 bit operating system.

I am not sure exactly what that means. The only thing I can think of is 64bit version of iTunes which can be downloaded from the apple website. Got to this link and scroll down towards the bottom. On the left hand side you will see something that says 64bit installer, click on that and install iTunes. That will get you the 64bit version.
Good Luck.

I have downloaded itunes to my computer but it won't open it. It is a pc laptop toshiba satellite A665D with windows 7 64 bit Why?

iTunes will install in Program Files (x86) even the 64 bit version. There are also iTunes files in Program Files as well. This is normal. It appears that the 64 bit version is really a hybrid of both 32 and 64 bit, the drivers mainly being 64 bit. Having itunes.exe 32* in the Task manager is normal

A lot of people are having problems with itunes 9.1. You can get 9.03 at this site. It ran flawlessly for me.

I cant get itunes to download onto my laptop

It all depends on your computer type and it's version. For instance, if you have a PC with Windows Vista of Windows 7, then the latest version of the iTunes (iTunes 10.4 for Window's (64 bit)) download should work. However, the "64-bit" part is also important. To check what your PC is, go to the start menu, then right click on Computer, select Properties, and it should tell you under System. If you do happen to have a 32-bit system, here is a link to the correct download: http://www.apple.com/itunes/affiliates/download/

Downloaded itunes onto PC which has Vista. Can't open itunes; get message: Apple Application Support was not found. Uninstalled & reinstalled twice with same results.

Itunes has two version for windows vista, may be you are using the incorrect version.

Check you windows version : right click in COMPUTER then click in PROPERTIES and see if you

have a Windows Vista 32 bits or Windows Vista 64 bits.

Go to http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

If you click on the big blue button, you are downloading the 32 bits version.

if you go down a little bit more, you can see in blue letters "64-bit installer".

Take the correct version and that's it.

Good luck. Remember to rate my answer, please.

I have windows vista and when i try to run itunes i get this message. 'the version of this file is not compatible with the version of windows you're running. Check you're computer's system information to...

Hi, you can check which version of Windows you have by clicking on the Start button (the Vista orb) and from the Start menu, right click on Computer. Choose Properties from the menu that appears, and you'll see a lot of information about your computer. There should be a line that says whether you have a 32-bit version of Vista or a 64-bit version. Depending on which version you have, you'll need to download the compatible version of iTunes. You can download both versions here:

http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

For the 32-bit version, click the Download Now button; for the 64-bit version, scroll down to where you see the link for 64-bit installer on the left hand side and click it.

Hope that helps!
