Error 5100 on canon MP210. It has new cartridges and wont print. Have tried resetting and there are definitely no obstructions in the printer. I have turned off at the wall for 10 sec and held down power button when turned on. Held 30 sec and heard no beeps or had any flashing lights. Still nothing.

1. Turn off printer
2. Hold down Resume button and press Power button.
3. Keep holding down Power button and let Resume button go.
4. Press Resume button 2 times then let BOTH buttons go.
5. Green lights will flash and then stop blinking.
6. When green lights are solid, press the Resume button 4 times.
7. Press the Power button and the printer should turn off, if not,
press the Power button once more.
8. Your printer should respond as normal..

SOURCE: error code 6502 on MP510

Canon help desk told to unplug the printer for at least 15 minutes. The electronics will reset. If the error persists after turning the printer back on you're screwed and have to send it to Canon, because some electronic component is broken.

SOURCE: Installed new cartridge in canon pixma mp210 & now can't print

The printer needed to be reset.
Unhook the printer then take out the new cartridges.
try to very gently clean the contacts also make sure the contact on the new cartridges is clean.
Let it dry for a few minutes assembly.
Plug it. My printer is reset by pressing the start button and hold it down until it beeps 6 times.
You can check your manual how to reset yours.
