We have an 80 series washing machine that will go through all cycles until it is supposed to drain then nothing happens. It wont go any further .

Check if hot and cold water enters the tub

Sounds like the lid switch.

does it drain after the wash cycle? if it does, then I don't think it's the timer. It uses the same contact there as for the rinse cycle. Do you hear the motor running as if it's trying to drain? If the motor is running, perhaps the pump itself is no good? Just a couple things to check. Hope it helps.

Check the lid switch under the edge of the top where the lid closes. When you are about 1 inch from closing the lid you should here a little click sound. That is the switch closing. I fyou do not here the click then the switch is bad.

drain pump is trying to drain. maybe have something in pump

Check the following before replacing the timer.

1. Clogged drain line or water pump
Check to see if there's something stuck inside the pump or the drain hose connected to the pump (pump is usually located at the bottom and towards the back of the washing machine).

2. Water Pump
If the drain line isn't clogged, you may have a problem with the water pump such as a frozen pulley or a broken impeller. If that's the case replace the water pump. Note: if you have a belt driven washer, check the belt(s) for cracks, as this would be a perfect time to replace the belt(s) if needed.

Unplug washer for 10 min to reset curcuit board. Then select the spin cycle. Selecting too many cycles in a short period of time can confuse the little brain in the board.

Broken motor coupling. They are cheap and easy to install. Even paying a tech to do it will sure beat buying a new one, and these are great designed washers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
