I took the base cover off removed the pump & opened it up, there was loads of hair wrapped around impeller. reassembled all working fine now. As a separate tip a washing machine hose with a male to male adapter the other end in a bucket works in order to test rather than keep connecting then unconnecting to spa

I've only been in mine tonight for first time and it's already giving me the code
Surely it can't be blocked already ?

Ive had the dreaded e02 code and sorted mine now ! Its says in manual that its a water flow problem. Mine was a blocked return filter. I noticed that what was happening was there was a restriction in water getting back into the tub after being through the pump|heater. With the tub full i unscrewed the top pipe to allow water to escape an an blob of paper slug came out. ( looks like from old filters ). When i get e02 code again i do them same and this resets the code. Hope this helps ! Peter finnigan

THIS WAY KEPT ERROR CODE AWAY AND IMPROVED HEATING!

Ive owned my coleman spa for 4 months now. I was getting the error code 1- 3 times a week, consistant with how many times I was in it per week. I found cleaning the filters fixed it until the next time I got in it and E02 code would come up again the next day. I put chlorine tabs in the floater as instructed but water PH level was aways too low (chlorine) and my skin would be itchy dry everytime.

BEST WAY TO KEEP E02 CODE AWAY that I found was to add 1/4 cup liquid chlorine every 3 days which kept PH level at 2-3 with my ph testers AND the E02 error hasnt been back since. Its been over a month now.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND taking pump housing off and messing with the sensor or youll mess it up for good ! !

I had a similar problem where the water pressure had diminished. SOLUTION: with the spa full of water unscrew the top (return) pipe so water spills out then turn the pump on for a few seconds. This dislodges any blockage and is like new again.

If this is an outdoor spa near trees, its almost a guarantee that the impeller is blocked with debris (pine needles can cause this in a hurry)

If the impeller is clean of debris and this is still happening, replace you pressure/flow switch.

Oh, and can anyone point me in the right direction to getting a compatible spare please? Pump Impellers are quite cheap until you search for Lay Z Spa Impellers.

im also looking for an impeller, did you source a compatible one?

The mine house is licking water out of it and it is giving the code ever time I put it on the filters part but when I put it on the bubba is don't no more

  • Anonymous May 31, 2018

hi guys have a coleman spa here and love it i have had the error for a long time too i found that if you drill holes in the plastic piece that squirts out the water after going through the pump it helps alot. The filters need cleaned aloooott to keep the error away but you can get away with about a week if you drill holes in output of the thing it lets all the gunk out better.

I have the same problem, i have opened it, checking the pump, putting it again, the tubes looks clean, I plug a tube sending water directly there and it came out perfectly. Indeed, I turn it on while the water was being pumped (not by the pump) and it didn't give me the error, so the sensors are ok, but when i plug it, the pump doesn't even try to work. It did once and since then, error EO2. The weird thing is that when I plug it, it does not even try to suck the water. I checked in internet for another pumps but i can't find much. Any advice? My only solution is to buy an external pump and use it.

I have gone through 3 of these blow up Bestway/Coleman hot tubs, I have decided they are not worth it and now going to spend the money on a more expensive permanent spa.

I have one and I get E02 code I've tried everything. two of the airflows don't seem to be working out of the three of them not sure what is wrong here. I called bestway in AZ they say I need a new pump. at cost of $199. it's a airflow sensor they say.

  • Anonymous Jan 13, 2019

I had exactly the same issue and found the problem to be the impeller was corroded. It is not available so they want you to buy a new pump which will end up the same. So I retro fitted a $60 pool pump into the plumbing of the Lay-Z spa pump.

  • Anonymous Mar 26, 2019

I am going to try this with my lay-z spa and was just wondering did you have to cut any of the cords inside the egg? Like maybe the two coming from the old pump? Thanks

  • Kevin Poole

I just got a new pump from amazon. I will istall it like the diagram he supplied. I will let you know if anything needs to be done with wires. I would remove power to old pump for sure and remove impeller.

Hi all. I’ve just taken on my mums lay a spa Paris. She’s never had an issue with it and always maintained it well. I set it up two days ago and it was working great til today when we got the E02 code. Probably my fault as husband noticed I didn’t put a filter inside the filter housing. Tried backwashes, everything. Can’t get the code to clear. Any ideas?

Hi all.. we've had the same E02, filter error issue (which seems to be a very common one with the Bestway pump on the Lay z spa).
After only a few uses, the error occurred. Unable to rectify with new filters, we discovered that the 'B' pipe was kinked.. so we contacted bestway who sent out a replacement liner. However.. we've only had it up for a week and already noticed the B pipe is kinked/ squashed and the E02 has come on again!!
This isn't a much discussed problem online, but might explain why many people are also experiencing the E02 code. Not always the need to change the filter.
Bestway recommend using hot water to warm the pipe and re mould it onto shape.

Mark Grays’ solution of giving it a good slap or smack was my solution to clearing the error, jostle it and rock it with moderate force, thank you Mark. I was able to take out some of my frustrations on the pump and solve the E02 issue.

I discovered Whirlpool hot water heater was displaying E02 error code. Followed directions in manual to possibly correct problem, but E02 code continued to be displayed. What is the remedy for this?

Error E02 indicates that the water temperature exceeded high limit.

Switch off the house circuit breakers dedicated to the water heater and then press the reset button located behind the control panel on the water heater.

Switch house circuit breakers back on.

If error persists, call a service engineer.

good luck

How can I delete E02?

Depends on the make and model but an Error code E02 on most washing machines is slow water flow probably caused by a blocked filter! Remove panel on front bottom left or right side and clean filter! Should then clear error itself!
