The float inside the carb is probably stuck in the open position...you may need to remove the carb and have an overhaul kit installed in it....if you stored the unit without draining the fuel from the tank AND the carb, then the fuel probably went bad and has become "varnished". This fuel degradation can cause the float to stick and clog up the main and idle jets

Turns over but wont start

is this diesel or petrol.if diesel then look to your fuel pump.under it is a plug .remove this and drain what will be water on the bottom of it.only a small amount then refit.now pump the fuel up to it is very hard .then get someone to turn the engine over .as you keep pumping should then start.that is done due to air in the system. if petrol you need a spark plug tester.check the coil has a spark .then check the leads at the spark plugs are getting a spark .then check the plugs for a spark .smell them .do you smell fuel on them .if so change the plugs.

My.carby floods the plugs on my dt1974 360.has good spark.and then wont start.

They always were a beast to start.
make certain the carb is clean, if it doesent flood out the overflow they are usually OK
A nice clean and relatively new air filter can help.
the float needle can wear, so you may be able to drop the float level a bit ( often over the years people used to think raise float, more petrol,go fast)
they used to have two plugs in the head, B7ES, to start and warm up, then when its warm change to the B8ES.
sometimes the oil\fuel would settle in the the bottom of the engine, and as soon as it fires it picks this up and fouls the plug,
It can help to turn the fuel off and run it until the carb is empty, before it goes in the shed, and when you start it , turn the fuel on for 10 seconds then turn it of again and try to start it

Fuel coming (sometimes pouring) out of the airbox vent pipe when the engine is turned off. It will also continue for a time with the ignition off and then slow to a stop. But will sometimes start again...

Sounds like needle & seat in carbys could be sticking or float levels maybe to high when you turn your key on your fuel pump starts and this puts pressure on needle & seat and if floats are to high the petrol just keeps flowing Float is what stops petrol flooding the carbies, check minor things first like dirt in needle seat if you have a compressor give carbies a light blow out.
