If you forgot your password and are unable to log into the router you will need to press and hold the reset button on the back of the router for about 15-20 seconds. This will reset the router to defaults. Now reconfigure the device.

You can create a Windows password reset disk to reset your lost or forgotten Windows password, i have created one with the tool Windows Password Breaker and reset my administrator password successfully.

Log in as adminstrative user and go to control pannel and change the password setting.

Return it to the store and let them fix or exchange. Sounds like it was a demo unit that they set a password on.
