Sound Issues

You can start with checking for the most recent BIOS version and sound card drivers, as well as settings in the BIOS, to ensure all is up to date, enabled, and compatible with the OS.

P8z77-v LK SATA Controller Problem ??

The board was working fine until you did what you did. HD is all messed up software wise. Wipe it completely and do a clean reinstall of your OS. And stay away from updates ,etc. The only time you resort to them is when you have an issue. Otherwise, you very often turn a good working piece of gear into a paper weight or junk.
And 8 is the worst OS down the pike - Use 7 and drivers for win 7.

Pc running XP pro reinstalls the usb devices on every boot. I have run all updates and installed the latest chipset drivers from Acer's website. I have completely removed all usb entries from device...

There are several possibilities. If you have already uninstall and reinstalled the USB driver and also if you've updated the drivers, then it could be Bios issues. You'll need to update the BIOS of your motherboard, the bios files and instructions should be available at the Manufacturer's website. Since you didn't mention much about your computer configuration or model etc.. I am unable to give you the link.

What USB device exactly does your computer always install on every boot? Does this happen once the computer is booted or when usb device is connected?

I would recommend you to boot the system into Safe Mode and see whether the problem persists or not. If not, then run the "msconfig" command from the "Run" and disable all the startups services. To do this, click "Start" > "Run" > and type in "msconfig" [without quotes], press "Enter". Now on the new window click "Startup" tab and disable all the devices except your sound devices/driver [you'll be identify by name], igfxpers, hkcmd, and few more things you can recognize. Click "Apply" then "Ok" and restart your computer.

If this helps, enable few more startups from the msconfig and keep restarting your computer until you find out the culprit and leave it disabled. This is one of the most important and easiest method to deal with start up issues.

I would also recommend you to try this from microsoft (Click Here)

The best method to find out the culprit is, install a new window [in your case windows xp] on as additional O.S. or dual boot. You may install on the same partition i.e. C: or you may install on any partition, once everything is installed, boot up the system through the second windows xp and see if the same problem persists or not, if the problem persists, then it's confirmed that your bios is outdated or having problem, you need to update the bios.

If in case there is no problem when booting from the new windows, then there must be some conflict or incompatibility issues. You need to uninstall all the devices' drivers and softwares and reinstall them one by one until you find out the cause.
Awaiting the results. Good Luck.

ONE OF MY USB PORTS STOPPED WORKING ON MY DELL LATITUDE D600 PC NOTEBOOK.

A shot in the dark here, but try this: Click Start>Run, type devmgmt.msc and press enter. Click the plus sign beside "Universal Serial Bus Controllers." Right click each listing that appears underneath "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" and click Uninstall. Click OK on the confirmation dialogs. After you get done uninstalling all of them, restart your computer and Windows should reinstall them. After it is done, try that USB port again.

Original motherboard sound drivers from MB disk don,t work.

Here is a link to the driver page for your board.
updates and see if this is
http://www.biostar-usa.com/app/en-us/mb/driver.php?S_ID=377

You could try downloading the driver from the site..Maybe there is a problem with the one on the disk. Also check the BIOS updates and see if this is a known issue. They may have a BIOS update to fix this issue. Before installing the driver/software I would remove the current audio software and remove the audio from the device manager and then re-boot the computer. Then install the downloaded software and see if that works.

Usb keyboard no longer recognised during boot process

Restore your PC before the BIOS update. BIOS updates are not required until & unless you face problems while running a software and it will prompt you for BIOS update. Do this update if its vital othewise do not intergere in the BIOS. I faced the same problem and after unistalling all drivers and again reload the original driver from MB VD slved it. Another thing in BIOS is USB setting at high-spped & full-speed. Try changing those settings and retry. Mine worked!...sodeep
