Then it needs a new battery or some sort of repair. The button on the face turns the monitor on for use, if this doesn't work, then you need to replace something.

How do I set the time?

Hi Charles,

I presume you're referring to a chronometer watch?

You need to twist the crown (little screw on the right side of the piece) counter clockwise until it slightly pops out. This is position 1. You need to pull the crown outward gently until you feel a lug sensation. This is position 2. Turn the crown to adjust the 'date' until you reach yesterday's date (one date before what you actually want). Then pull the crown outward again feeling that lug sensation. This is position 3. Turn the crown so the minute-hand swings in the normal movement of time (don't swing it backwards). Keep doing this until the 'date' turns to the current date. Now your piece is set on the correct date and the minute-hand is in the "a.m." Now keep turning the crown until you've reach the current time (noting the am/pm period you want). Push the crown inward to Position 2, then to Position 1. Turn the crown while in Position 1 to wind the spring. How many times depends on your brand, mine is 35-40 turns. Once I am done, push in the crown and turn simultaneously to lock it down. It will stop when it is seated properly.

Good luck.

The background light comes on when placed in the vertical. I need to turn it off to save battery life

The Auto Light feature of your watch has been turned on. To turn it off, press and hold the button that is on the bottom right of your watch for about 2 seconds. In the upper right of the face of your watch is a circle with some text on it. There should be a down pointing triangle in the upper right of that circle. Below that triangle there should be a dark mark before you turn off the auto light. After you hold the lower right button down for the 2 seconds that dark mark should turn off. The Auto Light feature will also turn itself off after six hours to help you to conserve your battery life.

My wrist watch has been in a drawer for over a year. I want to wear it now. the time shows 6;13 and the date shows 8: 16. It is running correctly. How do I set it foe the correct time and date?

First you need to unscrew the crown (setting knob) of the watch. Turn dial from up to down (downwards), you will feel the knob loosen and then it will pop out gently.
Pull out the pin very gently and turn downwards to set the date. If you have a Day and Date watch, turn upwards to set the day of the week.
To set the time, pull the pin out futher and turn to set the appropriate time.
Finally push pin in and simultaneously turn upwards to screw back the pin.
Please make sure you push turn the pin tightly because most cases of Water Damaged watches are caused due to the pin being screwed up not tight enough.

How do i set date and time

NOTE: NEVER EVER set the date between 7pm and 2am or you will damage the watch!! The crown is screwed down to make it waterproof. Start by unscrewing the crown by turning it counter-clockwise until it pops out slightly. That is position '1' which is used for winding. Pull it out two more clicks to position '3' and set the time by turning the crown clockwise. Turn it past midnight at which point you will see the date change and continue turning till you get to the right time. If you're setting the time to a point after noon, be sure to go all the way past 12 noon before setting the time or the date will change at noon instead of midnight. If the time is before 7pm push the crown in to position '2' and turn it to set the date. When you are finished push the crown all the way in and turn it clockwise to screw it down.

It's very difficult to adjust my breitling aerospace. When i turn the knob the watch barely responds. sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. Even when i turn the knob very fast. What can be the...

Normally this is from the crown and case tube being dirty. This slows down the rate at which the crown can be turned so the switch inside cannot get triggered to move the hands quicker. Sometimes the turning action can also be so that the switches do not actually 'see' the crown was turned and so the hands do not move.

The solution is to have your watch serviced.

Hope this helps.

Date dial is not moving when adjusting. No problem when you turn the dial in full turn to adjust the date.

The date dial is turn by two mechanisms. By turning the crown one set of wheels are engaged to change the date but when the watch is running or the time is being set another set of wheels is used to change the date.

Because it will not change on it's own when the watch is keeping time the wheel that is supposed to turn the date needs to be replaced.

A qualified watchmaker can do this for you.

Hope this helps.

Light turned off, can't get it to turn back on

There are more tha one version of your watch, so you need to go to the Nike web site to be sure that you have the correct instructions.

From what I can make out, the backlight comes on when the upper left hand button is pressed. The light will turn off after a short while, to preserve the battery

To get a copy of the instructions, go to the web site "Niketiming.com. "

Select you language and region.

On the left of the screen there is a box with a drop down menu for manuals. Choose yours and download.
