Maybe, but look inside the cooker with the pot removed and check the button in the center....make sure that it will spring back up after you push down on it. If it is stuck in the down position the cooker will stay on high cook and not go to warm.... Check if something is stuck in it and get it out if there is anything there so that the button will freely move up and down...
If that is working well then it could be the t-stat...

You can find replacement cords for many counter top appliances at most appliance and building supply stores. Try Ace, Home Depot, Lowes. Take the cooker with you to make sure you are getting the correct cord.
