SOURCE: I cant reset my Motorola SBG900!

Ok in the back of this unit or bottom there is a reset button or hole that you need a pin needle to access. Press it in for 15sec and let it reboot. Once it reboots, open a web page and type in 192.168.100.1 or 192.168.0.1 This will bring up a log in page. The login is admin and the password is motorola.

SOURCE: Motorola SBG900 WEP password problem - MAC OS X

  1. Try the ethernet cable, but also configure it manually by setting the gateway as 192.168.0.1 and the IP to 192.168.0.2
  2. Then enter normally and reconfigure it.
Optionally, try holding the reset button for 20s and access through wireless if you want.

SOURCE: can't set up my security password for my Motorola sbg900 on mac

You don't need your disk to do this you need to type http://192.168.0.1 into your web browser. this will access your your modems setup program. your default user name will be "admin" and password will be "motorola" as long as you haven't changed it.. you can read in your manual how to set up your wep key from here on in. if you need to download the manual give be a bell and i will post it on my web page for you.

hope this helps

SOURCE: How do you reset lost password?

Straighten one end of a Norwegian paper-clip, and insert it into the small "reset" hole in the back of the modem.

This will reset the modem to the "factory" settings.
Then, reconfigure your modem, as if it were "day one" that you got the modem.

Can't log into 192.168.0.1

The article I read suggested 192.168.100.1

admin (no capitals)
motorola (no capitals)

And no need to get your breathing rates high in case you have changed the username/ password of Motorola SBG900 and forgot them, as you can just reset the Motorola SBG900 router by press-and-hold the reset button with a straightened paperclip for about 15 seconds.

Set up wireless security

1 On a computer wired to the SBG900 USB or Ethernet port, open your web
browser (for example, Microsoft Internet Explorer)
2 Type http//:192.168.100.1 and press ENTER to display the login window:
3 In the User ID field, type admin (case sensitive) and press TAB.
4 In the Password field, type motorola (case sensitive) and click Log In to
display the SBG900 Setup Program main window:
As soon as your network is operational, run the SBG900 Setup Program to:

"Wireless Network Setup"
For a LAN with one or more wireless clients, enable wireless security on the SBG900.

"Wireless Network Setup"
After enabling wireless security on the SBG900, as required on each wireless client:
> If you disabled ESSID broadcasting on the SBG900, set the client Network
Name (ESSID) identical to the ESSID on the SBG900.
> If you enabled WEP on the SBG900, set the client WEP key identical to the
WEP key on the SBG900.
> If you enabled Allow Only Listed Stations Access, be sure the MAC
address for each client is correctly listed on the SBG900.

Hi i have a series 8000 samsung and trying to set up the wi-fi.. i have a motorola sbg900 modem and it asks for a security key.. where do i get this from? or how do i go about getting this set up so i have...

The security code a computer or device needs is the pre-set WPA-PSK code found on the labels that came with the router/Modem. For some reason this particular device comes with security enabled on the wireless newtwork.

Hi. just got cable internet (Comcast) and am

that's normal, wireless is normally between 1/4 and 1/2 the speed of your wired connection. normally the router gives priority to wired devices, but this should not cause you any further slow down unless you have wired devices plugged in at the same time you are using wireless. this can be changed from your router's admin page.

Bridging a Motorola SBG900 to a Speedstream 4200

You can't use the Motorola SBG900 for that. The only way it might work is if the Motorola SBG900 had a 4-port Ethernet switch built into it.

Get to the security setting for my motorola sbg900

Bring up your internet browser, and in the address bar enter "192.168.0.1". This will bring up a page that asks for a password and username. The defaults are:

Username - "admin"
Password - "motorola"

From here click on the wireless option, then on security, and I would suggest using WEP, and throwing on encryption. Also you will probably want to click on the admin option at the far left to change your username and password, since if people know those security becomes a bit more pointless. Make sure you do not forget your new username and password, as you can probably see there are currently many people on this site with the problem of not remembering what they set it to. :)
