On my older phone, and all my friend's answering machines, some going back to the Dark Ages - deleting messages, wholesale deleted those messages. I mean, did I Really need to find the time to listen to messages Months old. It worked on my old phone. Good luck. They only have So much memory, and messages eat up a lot of it.

Backup all contacts and any files that you don't want to lose onto the memory card and then type *#7370# into your phone. Do not restore any data from PC Suite as this will bring back the problem.

Menu > Messaging > Options > Sim Messages
Delete all of the old messages that you find in there.
