Hi, I own the Dynaudio BM6A acoustics monitors & I want to know if there is a circuit breaker system inside the monitors, for surge protection? The reason I ask is because I have no power conditioner for my rig, and I am afraid about the monitors the most. thanks a lot for the servise! Mauritzio

If an internal circuit breaker pops, something has failed. Even surge protectors do little to protect stuff unless they are high level types with filtering. Key thing: ALL your interconnected equipment MUST be powered from the SAME receptacle or power conditioner. Using multiple outlets can allow building "ground bounce" to rupture sensitive input circuits. Use of balanced lines avoids noise in systems.

Testimonial: "thanke you very much!! I learnt a lot - but did you mean specificaly to the Dynaudio MB6A acoustics? or maybe your explanation was generaly?"

Fuse blows as soon as i turn it on.

You might have a shorted rectifier or capacitor in the power supply circuit. Check that first.

Relay?? I've never seen a guitar or bass amp with "speaker protection relays"...usually they're either on or off. Check the simple stuff 1st...is speaker cable from head to cabinet and/or the input cable from bass to the amp good? Check the "Direct Out" for a line level signal (must be connected to a PA or other amplifier) as this is your preamp out signal. Also, plug a shielded cable from "Effects Send" to "Effects Return"...this will verify "effects" loop issues if any. Lastly, vibration test...use a clenched fist across the top, sides and bottom of wood cabinet to lightly "jar" the internal circuits. If it starts working even for an instant, I would suspect intermittent connection inside.

Bm5a blows fuse when turned on

Blowing a fuse means that it has a dead short. The fuse does its job by protecting the other components while the circuit fails. Something is definitely burned out inside.

My monitor is styill for working but the tweeter dont make any sound. i think its blowed up, is there a fuse a something that could be replaced in the amp?

no fuse in there unfortunately.

The problem could either be a blown tweeter (but that would likely cause distortion rather than silence) or a fault with the amp or crossover. Often it seems a relay is at fault in these instances with dynaudio monitors. In any case, unless you have considerable electronics knowledge (which I think it's fair to assume you don't ?) you won't be able to fix em yourself. Give dynaudio an email or call - they're helpful.

Hi, I'm driven demented with the amp buzzing/humming on my Dynaudio BM15As. As I'm in Ireland, sending them away is very expensive. I'm afraid I rarely use them now and they cost me a fortune! Any...

Make sure you are using BALANCED audio lines with either XLR or TRS plugs. This is highly important.

Make sure ALL, and I do mean ALL, interconneced equipment is powered from the SAME receptacle or source. This may mean running extension cords to some of your equipment or using a power conditioner.

Make sure all the equipment is grounded via the safety or third conductor in the power cords.

You have NOT told us what you are driving these from.

Radio interference

That sounds like its the cable. I make my own cables so let me know if you'd be interested. They have a copper shield with a polymer that blocks out noise.

Low volume on acoustic and jazz amp type

Ok, so I hope you realize the Fender FM25DSP guitar amplifier is an "entry level" NON-valve amp with a DSP chip that has model shaping tones. I am sorry but this is a toy and Fender did not spend the tens of thousands of US dollars to have built-in tones that truly 'kill". This not digital modelling like Line 6 or Fractal Audio did and so you have a problem from the start. This amp was always intended as an entry level amp for the bedroom only and never to be used on stage.
Jazz and acoustic modes have some similarities requiring mid-range boost and some rounding. Not easy to achieve with a DSP chip that costs about US$10 to manufacture. Sorry, consider using the amp for practice but look at a more serious valve amps for live on stage
