My timer for my water feature looks like your Intermatic T101R3 timer. I do not have an instruction manual. Can you e-mail me some simple instructions for using this so I won't get charged an outrageous amount for a 5 minute lesson after payying man $$ for a water feature. Appreciate it,

T101R3 is outdoor pool timer with fireman's switch.
Some are double-pole, some are single pole, some are 240V and others are 120V.
They each look like the other so eyeball identification is not enough information.
The model number should be inside door of timer.

http://www.intermatic.com/products/timers/mechanical%20time%20switches/24%20hour%20dial.aspx
http://www.intermatic.com/customer%20service/instruction%20manuals.aspx

I have been unable to locate manual specific for these products, and I have looked.
I was looking yesterday for this instruction manual.
Some wiring diagrams appear on following page, but again it depends on your specific model
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-T104-Intermatic-timer.html
http://waterheatertimer.org/Intermatic-trippers-and-parts.html#T100

The T101R series is designed to control pool pump and pool heater.
Fireman's switch automatically turns off pool heater 20 minutes before pool pump is scheduled to turn off.
So you set the trippers on dial, and then the fireman's switch does the rest automatically.

Add a comment with in-focus photo of inside of timer door and I can put together all the information and simplify instructions. Put your digital camera in 'macro' with the flower-symbol to take close-up photos. Photo has to be in focus so I can read information and see wiring schematic.

I can't download the instruction manual from Intermatic's website. I have a EJ500C timer and want to know why they caution against using it with CFL's and how to program it to shut off...

EJ500 7-day or astronomic timer is incandescent light bulb timer.
Different timers have different Load ratings.
Intermatic ST01C timer can control CFLs.
Aube timers have same wiring capability as Intermatic, and offer CLF control, but you have to choose either astronomic timer, or 7-day timer.

The Intermatic T101R3 timer that powers my pool filter is not working. The timer is not advancing and the filter does not come when when I flip the on/off switch. I checked/flipped the breakers and I...

Using manual switch should operate load, no matter what the clock dial is doing.
If manual override is not working, AND clock motor is not working, then power supply from breaker box is suspect.
T103 has 120Volt clock motor, but timer can control 240Volt loads.
Test for 120Volts across terminals A and 1
Test for 120V from terminal 1 and ground wire.

I need trippers for an older model Paragon water heater timer Model TC-2. Can you help?

I don't recognize Paragon TC-2.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Paragon-timers-and-manuals.html

Intermatic cross reference does not have that model number either.
http://www.intermatic.com/customer%20service/competitive%20cross%20reference.aspx

Paragon sent e-mail last month saying they were no longer making timers and parts, except for defrost timers. Your water heater timer is not defrost timer.

Here is a wide selection of water heater timers, electro-mechanical and digital:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Boxtype.html
Manuals and wiring diagrams are shown for most products on page.

I recommend simple 240Volt Intermatic WH-40 for price and reliability. Drawback is minimum 1 hour on-off.
Or Intermatic T-101 for 120Volt heater or T-104 for 240Volt heaters sold at Lowes.
Intermatic trippers and motors are available and interchangeable, and are made of steel.

Some new timers are made with plastic parts:
GE 15207 is universal 120V 240V and sold at Home Depot.
Tork has new universal electro-mechanical timer, TU-40 for 120 and 240 applications

I use GE 15070 in-wall timer from Home Depot for my water heater because I change times frequently and try to shave every dollar:
