Grainy photos in sunlight

I just bought a pentax k110d and when used outdoors especially in bright sunlight, the darker tones turn out grainy. I bought it because I needed another camera to replace my 10 yr. old broken sony. I need to be able to take perfect pictures for my brothers beach wedding next month. Please help. Thank You. Paul

The ISO is probaly set too high. change this by pressing the fn (function) button and selecting the right option (with the arrow key). then use the up and down arrow keys to change the setting. I don't like to go higher than ISO 400 but at a beach 100 should be fine. Don't point the camera in the direction of the sun as this can wash out the images. A filter would help somewhat.

Your ISO is probably set too high? to change iso press the fn (function) button and select the right option (with the right arrow) to go to the iso menu. Then use the up and down arrows to change the iso setting. I don't go higher then 400, and in the beach you could set it way down to 100.  Don't point the camera in the direction of the sun as this can wash out the photo. A filter would help somewhat.

Lcd screen is black when in bright sunlight,so camera usless in this situation. The rest af the time appears ok! Any ideas which may solve this problem?

Do you mean that you can't see what's on the screen in bright sunlight? This is common on 90% of the point and shoot cameras. Only 10% have brightness controls for the lcd.

CASIO EXILIM digital camera photo resolution

The Digimax A7 Doesn't work outdoors, because on top of the camera, try taking a picture, but hold your hand on the top of your camera (Cover it) it's light sensitive. On top their is a built in sensor, the Darker it is the darker the picture is, the lighter, the lighter. If you cover it, (Usually on top) It should work fine outdoor, just don' t cover it indoor. Hope this helped. -CA

When I am taking pictures outdoors there is so much glare that I can not see the picture I am taking.

Have you tried a glare shield, or LCD hood?

A glare shield reduced reflections, whilst an LCD hood folds out and provides "miniature shade" to assist in viewing.

Here's a 2.5" example (for pentax). Generic ones (such as Delkin) are cheaper.

Will not shoot in low light. it will focus but you can not depress the shutter button all the way to take a photo.

Go into your camera menu and find the AOUTO POP UP selection. Turn it on and the flash will be readied. If you don't want to use the flash, set the camera for manual and disable the automatic features. You will have to set your F-stop and time manually.

Outdoor photos mostly over-exposed.

take batteries out for an hour, this will reset to factory.  Give it a shot after that.

Pentax K110D and Sigma 17-35mm F2.8-4 EX DG

The Penta K110D has a 1.5X crop factor so a 17mm lense would be the equivalent to 25.5mm (in 35mm standard), therefore may not give you a 103 angle view. You would not really notice that much difference between 17 and 18mm.

Indoor photos are too dark and skin tones orange-ish

I have the same problem at my church with the indoor lighting on my camera. I'm able to get it work by putting the whole thing on manual and adjusting the lighting settings that way.

Redish tone

This is because your printer heads needs to be cleaned or replaced! or either some particular colour is empty!
