I have a Bunn coffee maker. I'm not sure of the model number but it is rather new being that I purchased it in August 2010 and began using it in December 2010. To describe it, the top has a lid that swings around to the side to put water into the reservoir and will not let water pass through until you swing the water back to the closed position.
This morning I poured water into the reservoir and brought the lid back to the closed position however water will not come out. I tried adding more water but this did not work either. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Not sure your model name is correct and we always need numerical model names here. Bunn are such a well known name in coffee machines, I find it disappointing that they say ANY machine is not repairable. I found some Training Manuals and I found a 'Thermostat Limit Kit'.
Can you advise the model number? Most Bunn machines use a faucetwith a rubber membrane inside which is difficult to repair. Its simpler for the owner to replace the faucet with a new Bunn item. If I know the model I may be able to give you the part number you need
If you will call Customer Service with the date code and model, we do have a seal kit we can send out or offer you an out-of-warranty exchange. The number to call is 800-352-2866.
If you will get the model and date code located on the bottom of the brewer and call Customer Service we will be happy to help you. If your machine is still under warranty-3 years or less-we can replace it free of charge. If it is over 3 years old, we can offer you an exchange for a new machine at a reduced price.
Yes Bunn will send you a repair kit free of charge. Just apply a bead of silicon below the rubber gasket before you tighten it down and it will solve the problem.
I would ask if this machine has been moved lately- for cleaning or has anyone put anything new around the brewer? If someone has moved this brewer, they might have caused a kink in the line coming to the back of the brewer. this will restrict the water flow to the brewer. this will cause the brewer to brew only part pots of coffee.
When a machine leaks, it is generally an indication of a bad seal or gasket. If you will call Customer Service at 800-352-2866 with the model and date code we will be happy to help you resolve your issue.
It sounds like you have a pour over model and the problem is the tank
isn't full. Turn the machine off (or unplug it). Put a pot on the
warmer like you are going to brew coffee. Pour clean cold water into
the top until it starts coming out the sprayhead (above where the
coffee grounds go). Now plug it in and turn on. Let it heat up then you
can brew.
The way your machine works is that there is always
about 2-1/2 pots of water in the tank. The water you pour in to make
coffee is actually pushing the hot water in the tank out. So, if you
don't fill the tank before using it, you may be hurting the heating
element since it isn't totally submerged in water.
