Hi

Dishwashers use Bi-Metal strip to allow the dispenser to open/close. This strip when heat up causes the soap door spring to open up the dispenser. If this strip is not heated doesn't allow the door to open. The strip may not be getting 120V or maybe disconnected. Newer (plastic liner) dishwashers use a wax motor to open the soap dispenser. The plunger inside the wax motor slowly moves and pushes the plunger and door open. And, if this wax motor doesn't receive 120 volts, then it'll not work. Please check the voltage to the wax motor/Bi-metal strip; also inspect the connections to these.

Hope this helps...

Daniel

The soap door will not open during wash cycle, I tried both short wash & reg wash.

The only experience that I have with this type problem was from having dishes blocking the soap door. You can tell if this is the problem when you open the door. The soap door will then open and the soap will run down the door.

May have a stripped wash impeller. I would tear into the pump and look for any kind of obstruction but if its clean probably the motor assembly needs replacing.

Soap dispenser door does not open during wash cycle. it can be opened with the manual release.

close the soap door and put into diagnostics. most models you can do so by pushing heated dry-normal-heated dry-normal. let it do its test and if the soap door opens during the test cycle, most likely the soap door assembly needs to be changed.

The soap dispenser opens but the soap is not dispensed and the dishes do not get cleaned. Can you help?

Make sure that there is nothing blocking the soap door from opening fully when the dishwasher is shut. This happened to me and I also thought that the soap door was opening during the cycle when it actually only partially opened during the wash and then popped open fully when I opened the dishwasher at the end of the cycle. So some, but not all, of the soap was used.

Soap not dispensed and dishes not washed

water is getting past the gasket during the start up cycle. by the time the door opens, the water has caked up the soap. also, its not clear when in the cycle the door is opening.
try using liquid soap.
also, take a peek just after the machine has finished filling and starts washing to see if the door is opened on the soap disp.
good luck

Before taking anything to bits, check you aren't just loading the machine in such a way that something (for us, it's usually a frying pan) is stopping the soap dispenser from springing open all the way. A.
