Problems with Philips vhs recorder/dvd player

You only need coaxial cable to pick up TV stations broadcast via an aerial. If your TV has sockets to connect via HDMI or SCART, then any players can be connected via them. So if the adapter box picks up TV signals, you connect the main aerial cable to that and it should have a coaxial out socket, that should be connected to the aerial in of your TV. If you are recording to an analogue video from the adapter box, then that will need to be connected via a scart socket or other connection.

Can I hook up a copying device to my LG 26LV2500

Such as a DVD recorder?
Yes, conventionally a recorder takes the feed from aerial or box befiore the TV but recording whatever you're watching can also be done mostly by using one of the Scart sockets usually on the back of a TV usually identified as Scart 1 AV in/out which should be connected to Scart In on a recorder.
If there are digital output sockets - and digital input sockets on a recorder - you'll get higher image and sound quality than you'll get from Scart.

I have a Philips LCD TV Model 23PF5320/28. How can I connect a Blu Ray DVD player to it. I have an HDMI cord attached to the DVD player, but there is nowhere to plug the other end of the cord into the...

The only way to connect via HDMI is to have an HDMI socket on your tv. You will have to use a standard video lead instead. It will still give exceptional picture quality it will use three wires instead of one.
The DVD player should have phono type sockets on the back or scart, to match the input sockets on your tv.
Hope that helps.

Can I play Nintendo Wii with Philips 14PT1686 Tv?

Hi
Yes you can, you will can use the scart adapter for the audio and video connections ( red, white and yellow) which is supplied with the wii, and connect this into the scart socket of the TV, you will then need to select the scart input of the TV, using the TV remote button EXT or TV/AV (dependent on the model), then set you wii I/R reciever to either top of tv or bottom of tv, dependent on its location and all should be ok.

I can't seem to get it to record any shows off my t.v.

the hdmi connections are input only.
if the tv has scart sockets on the back, and the recorder also, connect to these. the tv's scart needs to be either 2 way or out put shown with an arrow pointing out of a box for output and a 2way arrow for 2way scart.usually scart socket 2 is 2way. set the recorder as you would normally but set the channel to tye av or scart that you are using. please note that video plus will not work on the scart socket. you may also have to set the output for the scart socket via the menu.

How do i hook up the dvd player to the t.v?

It's quite straight forward, you wiill need a Scart connector. Then connect one end into the rear scart socket of the DVD & the other end into the scart 1 socket of the TV again at the rear. When you play a DVD just select the AV (1) input on the TV. On some TV's AV can also be identified as Aux.

Connecting PVR and satellite receiver

make sure you have a connection from one of your scart sockets (assuming you are using scart) on your sat to your pvr and then a connection (scart/hdmi?) to your tv from the pvr.

if you have a second scart or better still hdmi on your sat then plug that into tv

set top box scart output to tv

you do not say which tv model number you have so I dont know what input sockets you have but I will assume a couple of scart inputs and maybe a hdmi in (if hd version of tv) these days that would be considered a minimum amout of inputs so the setup suggestion above should be fine with that

Can't re patch tv with set top box to watch tv

Hi.

Ok here goes.

1) Take airial lead from the wall socket in to antenna in on freeview box.

2) connect short usually black airial type lead in to antenna out socket on freeview. plug the other end of this lead in to aerial in on vcr.

3) connect the other end of this aerial type lead to airial plug on the back of tv.

4) now if you have 2 or more scart sockets on the back of tv set plug in the scarts in this order.
Freeview box scart with tv on it connect to scart 1 on tv set.
Freeview box vcr scart connect to vcr in scart socket on vcr.
Vcr scart marked tv plug scart from here to scart 2 on tv
If you have 3 scart sockets on tv you can connect dvd using scart to scart socket 3 on tv.

If Tv has only 1 scart the aerial leads will stay the same as I have stated,
Freeview must go to scart socket on tv set.
leave second scart from freeview to vcr plugged in so you can record freeview by putting vcr to line 1 or AV 1.
you will need to put tv on channel (0) & tune this channel to the video play a tape that you recognise then go to tv tuning & tune tv untill you see video playing then store this on channel (0).
DO NOT USE AUTO TUNING IT WILL PUT CHANNELS IN THE WRONG ORDER JUST USE MANUAL TUNING.

Now to view Dvd you will either need to purchase A scart switch box. Or have keep unpluging freeview scart from tv so you can plug in dvd .

If your tv has red yellow white phono sockets you can plug dvd in to these, you may need to purchase phono leads.

Hope this helps.
