SOURCE: outside remote sensor, when i insert batteries, get

Hello.

The problem can be from two point of view.

1). from the battery capacity if not up to the voltage expected to be use.

2). And also if the battery sensor is not compatable with it.

However, what you need to do is to test run the system with another battery in other to be able to locate were the problem is from if from the battery or the the system it self.

you can also get back to me after the test.

Thanks.

No outside temp in de display only - - -in thedisplay i see the room temp. No outside temp. I have checked the outside transmitter end i see the red flash.

my unit tells me to insert fresh batteries into the outside sending unit first. then insert new batteries into the inside receiving unit. after the outside temperature shows up, then can reset my inside unit's time, choose F or C and
switch channels. please try changing channels if your
outside temp doesn't show. you can do both units in the house then put one outside after they work properly.

Outdoor temp doesn't show on my LaCrosse 8349

try changing channels on all sensors and the receiver.. You will have to go through a wait time as before. This worked for me last year, but mine eventually failed completely this year

Do you have to change batteries on clock inside house along with outside batteries to get correct outside temperature

My most consistent (best, repeatable) results with this process are to replace both sets of batteries, both in the clock and in the outside temperature sensing unit. Start by removing all batteries out of everything. Now replace the batteries in the outdoor unit, then (within 30 seconds) replace the clock batteries. The temp unit should begin communicating normally within 5 minutes (or less) and yes, you will have to reset the clock,

What does an OF symbol mean in the indoor temp window with no readings from the outside?

Based on a different, but similar, LaCrosse model (the WS-8611), it would appear to be an OverFlow indication, meaning that it's out of range. Here's a quote from that unit's manual:

SPECIFICATIONS:
Temperature measuring range:
Indoor : 14.2F to +139.8F with 0.2F resolution
(-9.9C to +59.9C with 0.1C resolution)
("OF.L" displayed if outside this range)
Outdoor : -39.8F to +139.8F with 0.2F resolution
(-39.9C to +59.9C with 0.1C resolution
("OF.L" displayed if outside this range)

It is likely that their convention remains the same across models, but I don't work for them, so I can't guarantee it.
