1. network security is setup by the user
You either have it or you will need to go through the set and establish a new network security key again via the CD that came with the router device.

MY EX BOYFRIEND shadow masked my email hacked my computer post setting up my wirelss router need to reset router 100%

A reset simply entails pressing and holding the reset button on the back of the router. It may be in a hole and will require a paper clip. Hold it down for at least 10 seconds.
You will of course need to reconfigure any settings (name, secuirty etc) for your network.

How do I put security on my Belkin 54g router

You set your security by enabling WEP.

When you get in the interface to configure WEP, set a pass phrase. Write down the 3 numeric keys it generates. Then connect to the wireless using your laptop, etc. When it asks for your passkey, do not enter the pass-phrase; enter one of the three keys that were generated by the router. That's the biggest mistake people make when trying to get wireless to work.

That message means that your wireless security key has been changed to a different password. All you need to do is go to Network and Sharing Center > Manage Wireless Network, then delete all the listed wireless profiles there. Now click on Add > Add a Network that is in range of the computer > Choose your network and connect. Make sure to type in a correct network key. That should do it.
