I would like to format my VGN-S360 - Sony VAIO VGN-S360 Notebook

Software is required to install new hard drives. Place your OS disc in the DVD rom drive and boot from that. Then it will guide you through the procedure.

Install the audio drivers then you will get the sound definately.

Download free software Driver Max from www.drivermax.com will detect all driver updates and any unknown hardware devices and install for you. Free version only lets you do 2 updates per day so choose your video driver first....cheers from Scott

You can but if you have a warranty or service plan than I would attempt to take that route first.

That is because the actual Sony model is VGN-S360.or VGN-S360P You should be able to verify it. The model nember is not on the bottom it is on the RH LCD hinge. I do not think you can download the drivers anywhere but you can try:

or just buy aa set of recovery DVDs from Sony
