Your memory card may think it's full if you've been deleting pics from it when it's in your PC and not in the camera.

If you've offloaded all the pics you want to from your memory card, put it back in your camera and "reformat" the card - there should be instructions how to do this in your camera manual. (If you've misplaced your manual you can likely find an online version on the website of your camera manufacturer). Hopefully this will fix your problem.

From now on, (even if you have to buy a new memory card), don't do any editing or deleting of pics directly on the memory media while it is in your PC (or Mac). Offload your pics to a file of their own on the PC (you can edit pics from that file). Then put the memory card back into the camera, verify that you did indeed successfully offload the pics to the PC (with the media card out of the PC), then delete the pics from the card while it's in the camera.

Reformat the memory card periodically (in the camera) after you've offloaded your pics (reformatting will erase all pics so you've gotta be sure you captured them elsewhere) to maintain the 'health' & full functionality of your memory card.

thanks.

Flip video instruction manual

Had the same problem. After trying everything, this worked:
From a command prompt, list directories. You might see one called ".Trashes\501" -- this is the directory where I found all the videos hiding that we tried every trick in the book to delete. If you see video files in this directory, simply delete them using the command prompt. Then exit the command line interface and check your camera. You should have a full 60 minutes of recording time restored.
Hope this works for you!

When I try to record, I am told that my Flip camcorder is full. When i try to view the videos existing on the camcorder, I am told the camcorder is empty! I can't record, and I can't view any videos.

Try this.
Connect to your PC.
Go to MY COMPUTER.
Right click on the Flip Video Drive
Select PROPERTIES from the pop up menu.
Press the DISK CLEANUP button
When the Disk Cleanup window appears press OK

Message trash empty try to record and get camera full

someone else posted on another feed, and it worked SO well I had to restate it here.
Empty the trash on your mac. I had the same problem, "Camera is full" but in actuality "Camera was empty". This guy said to plug the camera into the computer (macs in our cases) and empty the trash folder on your computer.
Fixed my problem completely and I didn't have to do anything crazy! Now next time it happens I'll know what to do, hope it helps you too! :)

Flip video problem

I have had this exact problem. The Flip Camera read "empty" however if I tried to record something by pressing the red button, the camera read "full." I started having this problem and kept on seeing fewer and fewer minutes available to record. Today, I was trying to shoot and then uploaded three videos. I could use the camera no more. So, I did as you suggested...plug the camera in to my Mac and then emptied the trashcan. It WORKED!! I got all sixt minutes back.

Lost time/inaccessible files on flip

This may sound risky, but I did this and my Camera is working perfectly again... If you don't have any videos on it you need to salvage too badly this should do the trick.

1) Plug it in (obviously)
2) Go to My Computer and right click your video camera
3) Click Format
4) I clicked restore device defaults because it sounded safe (but may not be necessary)
5) Click start and begin the reformatting

After this i went from my incorrect 27:11 min. remaining on the camera to the full 60. Still records perfectly and the software is still on it and works correctly. Hope it helps some of you out there =)
