Make sure your ethernet cable is not damaged in any way. If you have a secondary ethernet cable somewhere around your house then try it with that. Ethernet lights light up only when there is a power signal coming from either side of the cable. Most likely one of the wires inside the cable got damaged and is not letting the router know that it has something plugged into it.
If you dont have a secondary ethernet cable then switch the cable that comes out of your internet modem into the router with the suspect cable and see if you get a internet light on your router. You can further test this by directly plugging into your computer and see if it gives you a connection of some sort. If your computer continues to say that there is no network cable plugged in then you have a bad cable.
