When i scan on my Canon Pixma MP780 all in one printer, i get a light red line about an 1/8 of an inch wide down the scanned image?

Due to fact that the line is red makes me think the contact image sensor is faulty. If the line was black then i would have said you have something stuck on either of the scanner glasses. Check the glasses anyway for any muck stuck on them. Also do a scan from the adf and a scan from the flatbed. If the line is made from only one then the CIS is ok. If both do the same (a line) then the CIS IS faulty.

Lexmark x2470 how do i scan

The easiest way to scan to computer is to use the Lexmark Imaging studio Application. This should have been installed at the same time as the driver software. In the Imaging studio you have several options. Select SCAN and follow the prompts. For example to scan a photo select SCAN. On the next page select -send scanned image to: Lexmark Photo Editor. Below that it will say "what is Being scanned" select the appropriate button and click the "scan now" button. You can also use the - send scanned image to: - drop down box to send the image directly to another application such as WORD, PAINT, clipboard, file or fax. If you have any problems that are more specific contact me or another tech on the chat line for help.

HP 5610 scanner won't save image

I just need to understand the exact issue. It sounds like you are able to successfully scan, see the preview of the scanned image, and you initially save it. Then, when you go to open the saved image, you don't see the image you scanned but rather a "line". You've saved the image in a number of different image formats, but there's no difference in the result. It saves the scanned image to the location you want to save it on your computer's hard drive (probably My Pictures if you're using a Windows operating system).

Not sure what you mean by a "line". Do you mean a vertical line, a horizontal line, a diagonal line or what? Also, is it just a solid black line on a white background? Is it the image you scanned compressed into a smaller vertical or horizontal space?

Have to tried scanning both text pages and graphic pages? There have been issues where a document with both text and pictures has been scanned but when the scanned image is viewed, only the text appears. The pictures don't make it. The description of this specific problem is at HP.com.

I take it you don't get any sort of error message associated with this problem. Unfortunately, I can't find your specific problem at HP.com beyond the link I posted in the above paragraph. If you can answer some of the questions I asked, it might help me provide a better solution.

Thanks.

Scanned image has a line running through it

This could be one faulty sensor pixel or a speck of dirt on the scanner bar. It might be worth opening the scanner and carefully dusting the bar with a camera cleaner aerosol.
