Hi,
you cant.
your going to have to get a mid priced universal with extended features. read the packaging. thrift stores sometimes have a bag wall with old remotes so if you have someone who goes to the thrift store sometimes tell them to start looking for either a vcr or tv remote that says emerson on it for you. directv and dish network universals have video input buttons, if you have eith of those providers go to their website, download or find the chapter where it shows how to set up your viseo input. it is shut off by default..

Hi -

If you don't have a remote, you can only switch to video mode when using the AV jacks on the front of the TV. This is the Video 2 / Game mode input.

The Video 1 input for the AV jacks on the back of the TV can only be selected from the remote. Yes, it's rather stupid, but I don't make the rules. To switch your TV to video mode, please do the following:

1. Connect the red, white and yellow RCA jacks to the sockets on the front of the TV.
2. Switch on the TV and the video device (DVD, VCR, game system, etc)
3. Press the MENU button on the front of the TV
4. Press VOLUME UP once to open the PICTURE menu
5. GAME MODE should be highlighted. Press VOLUME UP once to switch game mode to ON
6. Press MENU again to close the menu.

The TV will now be in video mode. When you want to return to watching TV again, repeat steps 3 to 6 above, but use VOLUME DOWN in step 5 to set GAME MODE to OFF.

Hope this helps. If you need further assistance please let me know.

Regards,
BElectric

Actually, you can. Use the red/white/yellow composite sockets on the front of the TV, then use the buttons on the front of the TV to switch to GAME MODE. Please follow my instructions above ^^ . . .

We do not have the original remote, it was broken last year. We replaced it with a Phillips Universal remote which has worked fine until recently. The tv was in video mode when the batteries were knocked...

It shouldn't make any difference what mode the TV is in when programming the remote control. After you replace the batteries, just reprogram the control with whatever code you used before. If you didn't make a note of the code, use the remote's code search feature. That only needs the TV to be on, so that it shuts off when you find the right code. Once the remote has the right code back in it, you'll be able to switch the TV out of video mode.

Remote control not responding batteries good

You can simple test your remote control if you have a digital camera. Usually the camera has photo (picture) mode and video (movie) mode. Switch it it to video mode and see on the screen if your remote control flashing when you press buttons.

Denon AVR-1403 receiver switched from digital to analogue.

There are three modes (Auto, DTM, and PCM) on the input mode switch, on the main unit, selected by repeatedly pressing the input mode switch.

However, if you have already depressed the Analog button in, on the main unit you have predetermined the mode as analog.

On the remote, the INPUT MODE switch combines toggles for 5 choices, [Auto, PCM, DTS, Analog,
Ext. input]

My guess is that either the input mode switch on the main unit and/or the remote are toggled to analog.

Old Sylvania model #6420FB lost remote how to switch to av mode

Unless the TV has a front-panel menu button and allows you to switch modes from there, you are out of luck. There are two possibilities. One is to try another replacement remote. If you get a universal remote made by the TV manufacturer (Magnavox), it may have buttons that will work. The other option is to purchase an RF converter, which will cost around $15. This will take the video/audio signals from the game and convert it to a channel 3 or 4 signal you can then tune in on the TV. The picture won't be quite as bright and clear as with direct AV input, but it will do the trick.
