Hi there,

If the physical eject button is not working try going to:

Start-> Computer -> Right click on your Disk Drive and chooed Eject

If that wont work:

Shut the computer down, Press F2 on the DELL logo Welcome Screen and then try the eject button on the Disk Drive

If that doesn't work:

Try finding a paper clip and try if you can reach the Disk inside to push or pull it out.

If that doesn't work:

You would need to call DELL so they can send a technician to have the Slot drive replaced. :(

Hope this helps!

Hello Reg,

The CD/DVD rom is tray type then use a pin to eject the tray. There is small hole in front of tray plate.

Insert the pin in the small home and press smoothly and the tray will eject .

If the CD/DVD rom is different type then use long steel V shape clip to pull the disc.

How to remove stuck cd dell studio 1737

You can right click on the CD drive on your computer and choose 'Eject'. If that does not work, here is a link to a youtube video that should work for a slot load cd/dvd computer.

I ve reinstalle windows 7 recently in my dell inspiron 1545 laptop with windows vista home premium. i ve installed the driver softwares too. but now i ve to double press the eject botton on the keypad to...

It sounds to me to be a software problem and not a hardware problem. What you will want to do is go to the following dell support website and download updated QuickSet application.

The link is http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?os=W764&catid=-1&dateid=-1&impid=-1&osl=EN&typeid=-1&formatid=-1&servicetag=&SystemID=STUDIO1737&hidos=WLH&hidlang=en&TabIndex=&scanSupported=True&scanConsent=False

You may also want to check and see what version of Bios you have and update. They release a new version last month.

Thanks and hope this helps.

The disk in my dell studio 1737 will not eject. Pressig the eject button creates the sound of it ejecting but no disc is ejected. Is there a way to manually force the ejection of a disk?

If you look at the front of the CD drawer, you should see a tiny hole. That hole is to allow the removal of a disk that will not eject.
Find yourself a paper clip and straighten it out except for the shortest bend and form it into the shape of a letter L.
With the rest of the clip looking nice and straight push it into the hole gently and that wil actuate the mechanism that will release the disk.
Hope that helps.

I have a dell studio 17 laptop. There does not

You can go to my computer and then you will see the dvd drive showing. It will probably show the title of the cd. Usually it is the D drive. Right click it and click eject. That should eject it for you.

Dual boot vista/XP on dell studio 1737, drivers needed ?

For the video drivers you might try the intel generic drivers for xp these should work here is the process.

For the audio use the latest vista driver and then follow the steps here.

The latest driver in combination with f you are using Microsoft Windows XP*, you may need to first install KB888111.exe, the Microsoft* UAA High Definition Audio Package version 1.0a. should work.
