I had the same problem after 1 year, about 20 days after the warranty ran out, go figure. Anyway, check the thermostat on the blower housing (take the lint duct off the back and it's all the way in the front, mine had two brown wires on it, the one next to it is the thermistor (aka, what controls the heating element)). I had the problem that after I pushed start, I could hear the drum motor relay and heater relay kick on, and the timer would count down, but it would not spin or heat up. I measured the thermostat and the tech data said it should be <1 ohm, mine was an open circuit, took the it out of the housing and as I figured there was lint balled up on the inside of the blower housing on the screws that held the thermostat in place, so no airflow over the thermostat to keep it "cool" and it blew the fuse inside. I measured all other thermostats, switches and the heating element and everything was in spec. Ran a jumper and the dryer started right up (careful if you try, lint flies all over and heating element will kick on so be ready to stop it). $9 part through my local supply house. Samsung customer service basically told me it needed to have a repair service schedule because I'm too stupid to fix it.

Ryan was correct. Since it wasn't the belt and I didn't have any more time to fix it, I called in a Pro. He said it was the thermostat. Said it should have lasted the life of the dryer; it's just a guard against overheating. He replaced it and charged me $200.

Whirlpool dryer won't spin

Most dyers after you pull the top up, the front should just lift a little and it should come loose, sounds like you may have the belt intact, but the motor is not conected to the belt.

Samsung DV338aew does not get hot

I just took the front panel off of my Samsung dryer the belt is off. If you take the front panel off you won't believe what you will see it's so much dust... from all the clothes drying. Did you tried to take the front panel off? First turn off the switch to the dryer at the fuse box so there will be no power in there while you vacuum it out. As soon as I can put the belt on I will vacuum it thoroughly. I'm sure that is the reason why it the temp... is not hot enough.
Good luck.

Samsung dryer, model: DV317AEG turns on, but won't spin

Could be the motor is full of lint. Depending on how mechanically inclined you are take the belt off and spin the barrel and the motor separately motor should spin free, barrel a little harder to spin, but spin at least a quarter turn after letting go.

Kenmore Heavy Duty Plus Dryer 86273100 drum won't spin

How could the belt be in working order if the drum doesn't spin? Check to see if the belt has come off the motor. If the motor runs but your dryer doesn't spin, the belt is off. If the motor runs with the belt on but it still won't spin then you'll have a lot of black smoke because your drum is jammed. In other words, there are a number of things that could be wrong, but not very many.
