On your TV menu option there should be an option for audio. Open the audio option and choose the type of sound you prefer.

Many Mitsubishi projection TVs have bad control panel switches.
These switches fail and lock up the TV's computer, disabling everything.
If you can unhook the control panel, the TV will work fine with the remote.

Remove the speaker grill. Pull on the sides, it should come loose with a little effort.
Remove the access panel by removing the 4-6 screws using a philips screwdriver.
Follow wires from control panel inside to the connector labeled "DZ".
These will be the thinner wires, not the thick ones that go to the video jack.
Unhook this connector and the TV should work with the remote.

You can replace the switches, but the Mitsubishi buttons sometimes will just fail again. Using another brand of switch may be more reliable.
Better to just use the remote and let the buttons be useless. Nobody uses these usually anyways.

Some models will require you to unplug the TV for a minute, and then plug it back in and wait about 2 minutes before the TV will work again (reboot the microprocessor inside). The biggest issue with repairing your TV by unplugging the control panel like this, is that you no longer have the green LED on the front panel. Many Mitsubishi TVs will flash the green LED for about 90 seconds and then the TV is ready to turn on. Without this panel connected, you just have to remember that you need to wait 90 seconds after plugging in AC power before the TV will be functional.

If this fix does not help resolve your "dead" set issue, you likely have a bad power supply or bad signal board. The way to know is to check the +5 volt standby line inside. You can check this on the same connector to the front control panel for an easy check, without opening up the back. Just check all the pins and one of them should have the +5 volt standby sending power to the switches. Use the outside of the video jack as your cold ground. Thanks and good luck!

Cannot increase sound on TV using remote or manually

HERE'S THE ANSWER TO YOUR PROBLEM:

There are times that TV sound problems does not require you to call for a technician. Some TV sound problems are just easy to repair, and you can just do it yourself. Try to do this one:

1. Press the "Mute" button on the remote control or press the "Volume Up" button. The most common cause of no sound is accidental use of the television's "Mute" function.

2. Make sure the speaker source switch on the back of the television is switched to "Int" if you are using the television's speakers and "Ext" if using surround sound. If not set properly, you will not hear the television sound.

3. Access the television's equalizer by pressing the "Menu" button, selecting "Sound" and then "Equalizer." A list of sound options will appear on the screen. Use the up and down arrow buttons to select the option you want to adjust, and the right and left arrow buttons to make adjustments to the option. You should use this method of adjusting the sound settings if the audio output is in some way unusual.

4. Check the surround sound speaker wires and make sure they are secured to the audio jacks on the back of the television. In addition, ensure that the surround sound speakers are powered on.
If it does not work still. Contact your service provider.

Thanks... I hope this helps...

Hi, had same problem.... unscrew the remote and carefully remove the back end part of the stereo-connector (very careful !) it consists of a very small switch which moves sideways..... this switch is stuck into headphone-modus. Reassemble and it will work again

No Remote - Need to access Menu

We had the same problem - this worked for us:

1. Unplug TV
2. Press Channel up and Volume up at same time, while plugging TV back in (two person job - it will pull up a service screen)
3. Press Channel up and Chanel down at same time. (Access to menu screen)
4. Use Volume up and Volume down to switch between menu options. We finally found the EZ set up screen.

Somehow in the process we muted the TV and are now working on getting the sound back. :)
Good luck to you!
